If you and Jasta represent the level of quality of new employees at Westjet no wonder so many pals of mine that fly with the likes of you keep telling me how much the enjoyment of the job has declined over the last few years. Prior to Westjet:
nothing out of your own pocket to train...
good initial wages...
great benefits...
good pension depending on the type of plan...
excellent on board product... pay for nothing but booze.
a proud profession you that you would encourage your kids to follow.

After Westjet:
pay to train...
low initial wages...
weak benefits...
no pension and ESP that freezes your money for a year...
weak on board product... pay for everything.
pave the way with the LCC model to allow the likes of JetsGo to enter the market with a money upfront bond, the first in a Canadian 705 jet operation...
pave the way for upstarts like Canjet to drastically lower wages...
a diminished profession that you would discourage your kids from following

I'm glad your pilot agreement is getting better and you have fancy new toys on your machines but you aren't the progressive savior you have been brainwashed to think you are. After realizing how much you brought the industry down you seem to be trying to take forward steps which, judging by your remarks, makes you feel good about your company and think you are better than everyone else... bravo!

better start with human factor material then research our new flex plan then head into pension material and see what our rated return is. I guess my high end planner is wrong when he says our esp is amazing and tops any of the best defined or match plan out there. Who am I to believe...him or some stone throwing pilot...hmmm. Well when I did my initial training I was put up in hotel and got paid full perdiems. A buddy of mine had to find a place to rent and buy his own meals in YYC when he did his initial training 8 years ago at your fine progressive company, with a $35K salary cut. How much did you have to spend of your own money during your initial training?

What was a first year at AC making in the mid nineties prior to WS?

What role did WS play the first time AC drove themselves 13 billion into debt?

Which airlines still only provide training pay vs. a full salary?

When did WS abolish training pay for full salary as of DOH?

What is the pension at your company?

What was the impact of WS on such companies like Canadian, C3 and Royal (to name a few) who were in full force as WS was in it's infancy?

What is the relationship between Royal and JetsGone?

Does the rate of airline failures meet, exceed, or fall short of an average of at least one a year over the last 20 years?

If you are happy where you are at then be happy. Most of us at WJ are happy too. I have been here a few years and have a very nice home, cars,family and have a very nice lifestyle (for aviation that is hehe) and nothing you can say can change that. Not even your false information about some things. WJ isn't meant for everyone but please do demean my decision for coming here. Its very disrespectful and you don't see me doing it to you. If these guys are bothering you so the gentlemanly thing and walk away....ohhhh that goes for some of us guys too, ok? In the meantime why doesn't everyone just enjoy what they have and quit wasting negative energy on this argumentative crud.
