As always, some great shots! Here are a couple more with minor picasa editing, using only auto contrast and cropping. First time I've actually posted shots that are not raw. Enjoy

I was working in PNG just last year and I have to say it was the most challenging and exciting environment I've worked in so far. From enormous thunderstorms and jungle covered mountains to pigs running across the runway and dogs sleeping on the threshold... no two days are the same out there!! The people are just as interesting; right out of the stone-age, yet they are always willing to share what little they have. Just don't piss one of them off!!! ;)

+1, except I was in West Papua... pretty much the same thing though as far as flying goes.

Tanzania has some pretty challenging stuff and in some ways can be much more difficult at times due to the animals on the runway, the poor runway maintenance (rough, bumpy, roller coaster resemblance and unpredictable surface conditions) and heavy loads out of the bush strips... but still can not compare to the weather, terrain and runway altitude, slope and position of some of the strips in Papua.

That video is actually pretty old, but was one of my favourite spots to go.
:D

The passenger terminal facility in your video was top notch too :D

This area was hazardous because you could barely stand up on the ramp without skates...

Nice shot Rowdy. Are you coming or going, or is that a cruise shot?

I've got to start remembering to use a longer shutter speed.

I can't imagine eating that....I use cheese cloth to wrap chunks of meat then put them in new burlap sacs ....they are tough, can be handled often and breath!

Good to see that someone is still loading chunks of moose and fish etc.. into BBZ. - and that she's survived the decade since I last flew her!

I took a nice pic of that AirDale Beaver at a floatplane fly-in at Anjigami Lake in 2008. It was magic hour for picture taking when the sun peeked out from the clouds a few minutes before sunset.
