If everybody goes thru an initial again it will take years to get recalled.a2btrail wrote: ↑Tue Jun 01, 2021 5:54 pm For all us at Jazz recalls have gone out today for the E175 only. 20 pilots for a June 21st start. More recalls in July for the E175 as well is in anticipation. Of course this is in accordance with the internal MOA - Out of order Seniority temporary recall revision.

Yup. My friend formerly a Sky Reg pilot called me yesterday to let me know as they themselves received the call and email of recall yesterday afternoon.

Re: Best guess when recalls could happen
For 1 (ex)sky guy they recall there is a jazz pilot recall. So it’s only fair enough.
Re: Best guess when recalls could happen
Yes TEMPORARILY until the next equipment bid. Why? Because Jazz does not have an INITAL E175 Transport Canada approved course as of yet. They have an approved hybrid transfer course for ALREADY type rated E175 pilots. Increased flying projected for the E175 over the summer. The initial E175 course should be approved sometime in the fall. When the next position bid occurs the group recalled will then but put back on the recall list creating a vacancy for the bid.JoeyBarton wrote: ↑Wed Jun 02, 2021 6:30 am Not sure to follow...Ex-sky guys way down the list getting recalled out of seniority?

Sounds good. So when is the big messy everybody-changes-seat equipment bid scheduled?
Apparently mainline's june equipment bid is cancelled.

Atm it is scheduled for August. But just last week we received an email saying it may be delayed till October...JoeyBarton wrote: ↑Wed Jun 02, 2021 7:16 am Sounds good. So when is the big messy everybody-changes-seat equipment bid scheduled?

Correct. Yes thanks for the clarification! A new email as I'm sure you're aware just came out about more recalls on the way which is great!theflyinghotdog wrote: ↑Wed Jun 02, 2021 9:18 amYou aren’t far off but the ALPA email said “ next equipment bid happening in October or sooner to address the introduction of the E175 and imminent removal of the Dash 8.” so officially October but could happen sooner. 20 erj pilots “sky” got recalled for august flying and apparently another group in July to come. Will be interesting if CEWS is extended to aug 28 or not.a2btrail wrote: ↑Wed Jun 02, 2021 7:47 amAtm it is scheduled for August. A total of 227 Pilots will be recalled between now (June 2) and July 5. 40 former Sky Regional Pilots will be temporarily recalled on the E175 as per the March 10 MOA. For operational needs and to meet the requirements of the MOA, a further 187 Pilots will be recalled in order of the Recall List.

Isn't there former Air Georgian Pilots to accommodate into the seniority list too?
Keep the dirty side down.
Re: Best guess when recalls could happen
They are already integrated into our list. I think just about all got trained before the Wuhan Flu hit.

COVID-19 is a corona virus, just like the common cold.
You would be more correct in calling it the Wuhan Cold or the Wuhan Virus, but either way, calling it that is only a banner that is saying "I enjoy showing everyone that I make decisions based on emotion and not on fact."

Re: Best guess when recalls could happen
Does the 361 remaining on layoff include the addition of Sky pilots or is that the original jazz pilot list?
Secondly, how many sky pilots were added to the list?

Re: Best guess when recalls could happen
The answer to this question is probably hidden somewhere within one of the barrage of recent LOU’s...
WRT the recent recalls, including the many that happened today, are the 80 or early retirement/buyout taken into account? Or put another way, once the last of the group of 80 has left by end of August, is there a separate set of recalls to offset that? Or has that been accounted for with the current recalls?
Asking on behalf of someone getting really close to the threshold of getting recalled.
And welcome back to those who get the call!
Thanks

Re: Best guess when recalls could happen
Hopefully the recalls will ramp up over the next few weeks to face the probable busy end of summer / fall. Airlines need to start positioning themselves in some markets. Training and staffing also needs to be well planed so our airlines doesn’t lose market shares to our competitors.
Re: Best guess when recalls could happen
The 86 or so (+ or - ERP) were not factored in. So thats an additional 100 recalls I'd imagine coming for late july early august. I mean.. you can pay a 'new' captain and an FO's yearly on that of a veteran Jazz'er going out the door... So I'm just making the assumption they'd rather have people back..Captain S itmagnet wrote: ↑Fri Jun 04, 2021 7:03 pm The answer to this question is probably hidden somewhere within one of the barrage of recent LOU’s...

I know the training department is stretched to accommodate all the upgrades and recalls currently until august. But by fall my best guess is that everyone is back on the roster. Unless truedope does something foolish. Which will most likely trigger an election anyways...
US border set to open soon. That'll make a huge difference. I'm cautiously optimistic.

Re: Best guess when recalls could happen
Any idea where we’re at on the seniority list after this last round of recalls?
Trying to figure out where I sit on the list now.
