Apparently the Cherokees I've been flying are not spin worthy, we did the spins in a 150. I just did my first circuits on the weekend. The solo seems so far away right now. After how many hours does the average person fly before the first solo?

The average pilot takes about 3 hours of dual to solo. A complete maladroit takes about 4. Why, how many hours of dual have you got?

I'd say more like average 10, good one 6-7.

How many hours do you think it would take to solo, Max, for someone who could not see the humor in my post?
As you seem to want to take this seriously, there are so many factors involved including, but not limited, to frequence of lessons, instructor ability, student ability, etc, that giving someone a time frame is just setting them up to unfairly compare themselves....so my post was meant to be irreverent...I thought by using such low hours people would see the humor.....I guess I underestimated your obvious serious dedication to such numbers and your willingness to jump right in and demonstrate how knowledgable you are.

Well then, my apogoies to Max.
I thought the numbers to solo were so low as to be ridiculous. And betting that he had more dual hours than a complete maladroit I asked the question as to how many hours he had. Guess I was maybe to sublte, and again my apologies to Max for taking my post seriously.
It was meant to be humerous.
But as to your comment Niss, about why its taking you so long to solo......if the shoe fits....
Sorry, there I go again. Please take it as a joke Niss

This is why I asked; my instructor would not give me a number when I asked him. I know the number varies a lot, I was just looking for a typical number. I was thinking 15ish, so...
