Swede,
I do appreciate your point of view and the many interesting links you provide, but I would like to respectfully request that you post them in a different thread. Or even start one. It was my intention that this one remain free from conspiracies, campaigning and mudslinging. That way it is easier for others to pitch in with their predictions. After all, it’s hard to expect someone to speak up when we're ripping up their particular choice(s). I don’t think anyone wants to have to defend their selections to the Avcanada gallery. I’m certainly not enthralled about my picks, but they’re predictions- not endorsements.

Witty comments are always welcome though. Also, feel free to differentiate between who you’d like to win, and who you think will actually win.

So, got a pick for us?

Well, the results are in and the winner is- as the first person to predict an Obama victory- Phaedrus. 8)
Although in reality, I was overly specific with my predictions about vice presidents and that should probably disqualify me since I was not technically correct. But how was I to know that Edwards had a love child with some Hollywood Ms. and that the media would not be able to cover for him long enough to seal the deal??
To be fair, the honours (or honors in his case) should also go to Stinson4118c who kept it simple and got it 100% correct.

And for the bonus question, Grimey gets the nod for accurately predicting that Canada would have an election this fall.

Stinson, I was going to send you the rusted out frame of a Chevy Cordoba that’s been decomposing on my lawn, but since our dollar dropped so much I can no longer afford to have it towed all the way south to its new home. So how ‘bout $500 Canadian Tire money instead?? You’ll need a couple friends with wheel barrows to help you pick it up… :D

Also, for the record I sincerely hope that the rest of my prediction does not come true.

Thank you thank you thank you. And in the spirit of the internet, let's all flame phadreus because he couldn't possibly give me a Chevy Cordoba, because the POS things were made by Chrysler. Well the dems haven't even had it for a day, and already Pelosi wants to double up and give 50billion to the Detroit POS makers to bail them out for their inept management for the last 30 years. We can always count on the Dems.
As for your final prediction, I actually think it's quite likely, and it would absolutely ruin this country. Hopefully the Secret Service will begin to insist he keeps a bit more of a sheltered profile. I can't believe how out in the open he is all the time. I wish him well...a long life, and a Republican congress in two years. HOHOHOHo

Didn't Bush just push for a 700 Billion dollar bail out of the banks due to their inept management of mortgages and debt? The Democrats are hardly alone when it comes to corporate welfare. That doesn't excuse either party, though.

Corporate welfare wouldn't piss me off so much if CEOs and other executives of companies who receive it had their salaries (including bonuses and other compensation) severely restricted until they're no longer receiving welfare.

Er, in my defence, all that's left on the side of the car is " ba " and I've always assumed that's what it was. Never been in it you understand- strictly for show. And since I've never heard of a Chrysler lasting over 40 years, I naturally figured it was GM...

Heh- speaking of nationalization, what's the difference between GM and Chrysler anyways....? :D
