Don't all aircraft overshoot to the right of the runway, in which case opposing traffic would pass without collision (given the wildlife/livestock on the runway scenario)?

Yes, normally that is exactly what would happen, however in this case the lear was going opposite to the other traffic, so a climb to the right would put him into the traffic on a left downwind/base for the other runway.

8 actually doing circuits and an additional 6-8 arriving and departing more in the zone but not in the circuit.
Springbank any weekend before the NEP way back when.
