Which March date was cancelled? Are they still running classes every 2 weeks?
No. It was mentioned in the last webinar that a March groundschool was cancelled and may continue some months moving forward.
What was the reason?
The reason given, was that they want to consolidate to larger classes as opposed to running more small classes.

That was the reason given. Whether it is true or not is up for debate.

The 'rumblings' of dropping the ATPL requirement are just that. A lot of people say they can see it, I personally don't. Given the problems in additional training requirements and upgrade failures due lack of experience, I don't see them dropping the requirements to a level below ATPL. This also solves nothing. You'll get the same problem as Jazz with future FO's unable to ever upgrade without the A's. All it takes right now is once incident/accident involving a low time pilot with no ATPL to trigger TC dropping Thor's Hammer down on AC.
Oh I agree 100%, it's pure stupidity to even suggest it. The point I'm making is that management is once again demonstrating that they're willing to go to any lengths rather than deal with the real issue: pay your employees fair wages.
100%!! They would single handedly resolve their experience issue, all while depleting the competitions pilots by giving us a world class contract. Not to mention secure their precious summer and every season before and after. They'd have a workforce who would be ready to go the extra mile to bring this place back to life. Instead they let their precious egos and pride get in the way of that because for now, they are still making a profit.

Once a pairing eh? What base an equipment would that be exactly?

I know someone who came over from Jazz last fall, drew the bottom straw, has ow done the 220 course but can’t get any flying. Yet they’re still running multiple course dates?

As far as I know offers were going out this week for April 3 only. Others are not filled.

Do they have a day offers typically go out on?
Cheers

That does sound fairly accurate. Ppl are sitting a lot at home on reserve due to the ongoing engine issues. 220s are being grounded for mechanical issues with the engines and not really being fixed in a timely fashion basically because the engine needs to replaced. The supply chain issue means not enough engines to go around which means aircraft grounded which then means less flying available on the 220 fleet. But your sitting at home on flat pay so not the end of the world. You get paid peanuts but can pursue other interests in the meantime.

Is he still getting paid ?

Yes? Tell him to enjoy his days off! Never know when the quiet period will end
