Did you have an external GPS antenna fitted for the 406 ELT? Or have it hooked into your panel GPS?

Lots of really good suggestions. Myself, I like a good, full sized axe (hatchets are dangerous in my opinion) but I don't carry it inside where it can become a missile in the event of a prang. I tie and duct tape mine out on the wing strut. A couple of bottles of Repex triple bagged in ziploc bags (doubles as fire starter), and in the winter on skis a portable stove/pre heater and engine tent.
