Incorrect, first transition class starts tomorrow. 2 days groundschool, 2 ground trainers days, 4 sims then PPC and a LOFT.dontcallmeshirley wrote: ↑Sun Apr 30, 2023 10:48 amI would expect that Porter gives every pilot it puts on the E2 a full initial to PPC.kiaszceski wrote: ↑Sun Apr 30, 2023 10:39 am is there a transition course between the E175s and the E2?

That's interesting to see. I figured that new airline plus new airplane equals an initial.

Re: YTZ - commuting in the GTA
Transport Canada approved the e2 as a common type to the e1. So technically is not a new airplane. It’s surprisingly similar and even the SOPs are roughly the same since both were derived from embraer manuals.dontcallmeshirley wrote: ↑Sun Apr 30, 2023 11:11 amI expect to be wrong again in the future more than once.CaptDukeNukem wrote: ↑Sun Apr 30, 2023 11:09 am Incorrect, first transition class starts tomorrow. 2 days groundschool, 2 ground trainers days, 4 sims then PPC and a LOFT.

What’s more fascinating is how a 737-400 and a 737 max can be the same type.
Re: YTZ - commuting in the GTA
Transport Canada defines three different type ratings for the 737.CaptDukeNukem wrote: ↑Sun Apr 30, 2023 12:02 pm What’s more fascinating is how a 737-400 and a 737 max can be the same type.
737-100/200 73A
737-300/400/500 73B
737-600/700/800/8 73C
As none are in Canada, Transport Canada has not yet assigned a type rating for the -900, nor the -9, -10 and 8200. I imagine they will be 73C.
FAA defines them as one type, however they place Ops Specs restrictions on each airline as to what pilots can fly.

Would just be nice if they didn’t close that ramp every winter leading to the elevatorsCaptDukeNukem wrote: ↑Sun Apr 30, 2023 7:36 amI park outside. Better for the suspension than going over 50 speed bumps and having to park on the roof anyway. Not to mention the idiots who drive 60 mph in a parkade.

There's a ramp from the second floor to the first floor that remains open year round.goleafsgo wrote: ↑Sun Apr 30, 2023 1:22 pmWould just be nice if they didn’t close that ramp every winter leading to the elevatorsCaptDukeNukem wrote: ↑Sun Apr 30, 2023 7:36 amI park outside. That also saves you from the wait for the only two elevators that stop on #2.

Transferable PPC are becoming more commonplace.dontcallmeshirley wrote: ↑Sun Apr 30, 2023 11:11 amI expect to be wrong again in the future more than once.CaptDukeNukem wrote: ↑Sun Apr 30, 2023 11:09 am Incorrect, first transition class starts tomorrow. 2 days groundschool, 2 ground trainers days, 4 sims then PPC and a LOFT.

A pilot has the PPC, they just need to train to the operators SOP and then conduct another PPC ride under that SOP.

Re: YTZ - commuting in the GTA
itaserb and lowoleo22,
Thanks for the info on parking, pairings etc. 30hrs in your logbook??? 60-70hrs per month??? Is this all the flying after line indoc?
They still pay the min of 80 hrs though, right?
The three weeks of line indoc??? is done in three weeks or do they drag it on due to trainer availability?
Taking a leave from current work and not quitting till line indoc is done, hence the question.
Did training years ago up north that was to last a few weeks, but ended up three months worth as they never had staff.
Appreciate all the info though
Thank you so much.
