And $37k is enough for right seat at AC (with much shittier working conditions for the first _ years) or $34.7k is enough for right seat at Jazz?

How much should a start up pay for left seat of a Q400?

Funny how your own posts are about money and how much an FA will or will not make at different jobs...... next time you complain about someone or a group ...research what you have said in the past...

Low 90's to start would be about right!! I never mentioned right seat pay so why did you throw that out there. We were never discussing right seat pay.

I threw it out there because pay is pay and what one company offers will have an effect on what others will. Porter is starting pilots that meet their left seat requirements at $72k while Jazz and AC start all of their pilots at the above figures. $72k is a starting salary for a new hire and compares rather well with the other two.

If you only want to look at the left seat, I believe that a first year Jazz Captain makes mid-60's. I admit that that is hearsay but I havent heard of any higher figures. I've also heard that AC Emj Captains dont get onto formula pay; they must have the seniority to bid off the airplane first which will could possibly take quite some time for some of those relatively junior people that I hear are bidding for the position to go Captain early.

$72K and $45K for captains and F/O's respectively is pretty good starting pay for a Dash-8, even if it is a Q400. If you can find better starting wages for a Dash-8 in Canada, go for it.

Post by Leslie »

everyone has something to complain in this industry at all times i guess and i agree 100% F/A's always have something to say about everything. i am not disareeing..some a lot more than others, just like the pilots. just some more than others..and i guess i have been with the ones who are doing more of the complaining lately...sorry to push buttons..

AC and Jazz at really paying 34-37K? You would really have to be under twenty-five, and living in mon and dad's basement! Cant see how anybody with any kind of responsibilities (wife, kids mortgages) could entertain working there? Makes Porter look pretty good indeed.......but no jets...booohooo.

I was told $40K for FO's. Regardless, $40-45K is where I thought the salaries would be. Unfortunately for us pilots, its competetive with whats out there right now.

I do believe this airline will be a success, they really have their sh## together. And who knows, when Porter really starts to take-off, the salaries will hopefully follow.

I was wondering if anyone who had an interview has gotten a call yet with whether or not they got the job.

Did they also mention when the training or the job would officially start?.

The interview is essentially a human resources interview. Very similar to Jazz and AC from what I hear. I have only done a Porter interview however.
They ask questions about you and your background and then some "what if" scenarios about difficult flying situations.
Then they ask you if you have any questions. That's it.
Good Luck!

I understand that this is the second round of interviews. Does anyone know how many pilots were hired on the first go-around?
