I don't think the event was funny. I never claimed it was. That doesn't mean you can't make jokes about it that some people might find funny. Or that there are certain aspects related to the incident that are somewhat funny.

I appreciate the effort there, but as far as I know, the air would have dissolved into the surrounding water quite quickly at that pressure resulting in more of a fizz than a bang.

As OP, pointing out that many of the posts in this topic include insensitive jokes of the death of 5 people.
Avcanada mods allow this, and the angry comments in other posts, but delete the topic criticizing Transport Canada for lack of action on repetitive maintenance failures by a regional airline.
A central item of democracy is the ability to openly criticize the government. There’s many topics criticizing the government on covid, or the PM on other policy.
Why illegal on avcanada to criticize TC for not resolving safety concerns that could prevent accidents, while it’s allowed to make fun of 5 people dying in one?

If you're that offended, then use the report button (it's the !) in the top right of every post, and it will flag things for our attention.
I'll personally cop to being inconsistent from day to day about why things do or don't get moderated - I can't/won't speak for the others, however.

Nonetheless, this is a privately run website. If the owners or mods had a big crush on Omar and only allowed people to say nice things about his sneakers but not anything negative, guess what, that’s totally within their rights. However, I’ve read plenty of criticism of TC on this website.
