I'm aware, just think it's peak government when you pass a law that wouldn't prevent what it tries to preventporcsord wrote: ↑Tue Oct 24, 2023 12:12 pmTrue, but it was the incident that caused the 1500hr rule to go in effect.newlygrounded wrote: ↑Tue Oct 24, 2023 10:17 am Both crew in the colgan crash had over 1500 hours....

I'm in a similar situation, except my booklet expired when I applied back in August. I patiently waited over six weeks before calling. I got lucky after waiting on hold for over thirty minutes. Was told it was being processed and to email Pacific Region for more information. Sent an email two weeks ago and was told it would be answered in the order the emails come in. Still waiting...

Re: Does Transport Canada even exist?
I’ve been waiting on a booklet for two months. A couple weeks ago, I filled out the web form and, two weeks later, got a reply from a human in Prairie & Northern Region. After a bit more back and forth, it seems my email got escalated to a Service Officer who actually explained things.chinglish wrote: ↑Mon Oct 30, 2023 5:10 pm I'm in a similar situation, except my booklet expired when I applied back in August. Apparently, they are waiting on new blank booklets which should arrive “around mid-November”, at which point they’ll start printing their way through the backlog.
How long it takes after that is anyone’s guess, but it sounds like end of November might be the earliest one could expect to see a new booklet.

Going to spend nearly 4 billion on TC this year. Let's hope they peak out of thier hibernation covid burrows. But for 26 percent increase they will probably climb right back in and wait for next year.
Re: Does Transport Canada even exist?
Holy crap. The private sector could probably do the same job for $3.6m.
Re: Does Transport Canada even exist?
I'll do it for 3.5M
Complex systems won’t survive the competence crisis

Tell me, what % of raises are pilots targeting again during negotiations?JustaCanadian wrote: ↑Tue Oct 31, 2023 2:58 am

People are constantly complaining about the lack of service from TC. Now that the government is spending more money on it, arguably to improve the service, the first reaction is to complain again? What exactly do you want them to do?

As an AvCanada discussion grows longer:
-the probability of 'entitlement' being mentioned, approaches 1
-one will be accused of using bad airmanship

Re: Does Transport Canada even exist?
The 27 percent is not raises, this is just new spending on all TC initiatives, and probably some inflation increases.
Yes some people believe the solution to every problem is throw more money at it. What do you do when you have no more money left to throw at the problem? Actually we are already there, we only know how to run deficits.
Article today says more Canadians think we have too much immigration. So let’s understand this, we need to increase our budgets 20 plus percent, and at the same time stagnate or shrink our tax paying population?
Good luck with that.

I don't think I've ever met someone online I disagreed with more than you.

I just swapped more email with the TC Service Officer that helped me out before. I’m now told that the estimated arrival date for new blank booklets got pushed back to mid-December.

Personally hand delivered my ADB renewal to 4900 Yonge St. (Ontario region) on October 16th.
Sent an email on October 25th to inquire on its status.
Received the following email reply:
Good morning,
Your booklet was issued and queued for print on October 25th.
"Please note there are currently delays at our printers office, however there is an exemption in place regarding the validity of booklets – please find the exemption attached."
There you go a printer holding things up!
Speechless on the lack of service and accountability!

Had a conversation with my CP the other day, said that he was told they literally don’t have any booklets to actually print on.GBB wrote: ↑Wed Dec 06, 2023 10:23 am Personally hand delivered my ADB renewal to 4900 Yonge St. (Ontario region) on October 16th.

Re: Does Transport Canada even exist?
How much "work" goes into getting a sticker out on time? Receiving an email copy of a ride report, and pressing a button that makes a computer somewhere chatter out a sticker? Then an actual human has to take the sticker, put it in an envelope, and post it? Is that the hold-up? Is that human task not possible anymore because no-one actually works for Transport Canada anymore?....
