Re: Mars flies again
She’s made it to SFO! Great pictures of her crossing the Golden Gate bridge this afternoon.
This marks the end of an era. I am glad that my friends that are flying her are being celebrated while the Mars takes her final bow as a grand old lady.

Re: Mars flies again
She made a low and over in PSP for the flying museum. Would have been quite the sight to witness.
Re: Mars flies again
Avweb reported that the fly-past over San Diego was scrubbed and she went direct to Lake Pleasent northwest of Phoenix where it will eventually be hauled out, partially disassembled and trucked to Pima Air and Space. No mention of a jolly over Palm Springs.
Re: Mars flies again
I was watching it on flightradar24 and it passed directly over the museum at 1200’.
Re: Mars flies again
I read "low and over in PSP" then "for the museum".
Pima Air and Space is 340 miles from Palm Springs then it's 150 back to Lake Pleasent.
Not doubting what you saw on FR24 but a 500-mile scenic on dodgy engines?

Re: Mars flies again
What is dodgy about them? In addition, there are four of them. Four engine aircraft don't even consider a shutdown of one as an emergency and typically continue on to destination if it is convenient to do so.
Re: Mars flies again
Went with what I read on AVweb and evidently they got it wrong.
