Should I report myself for flying a 182 without one, or Skydive Toronto for claiming there is one?

Please advise.
Still waiting. Depending on you guys!
I dare you to print up the rating application form, mail it into TC with the $35 payment and put "cessna 182" in the type box.

I hate that I'm even thinking this, but if I was passionate about becoming a meat bomb driver as a job, paying for a course on the subject would make sense. Calling it a PPC is dumb, but it's not a totally unskilled job either. I applied for jumper dumper jobs and never got a call back 25 years ago. A guy I know who did get a job doing it, paid for the first jump course and jumped out of a (perfectly good?) plane to get to meet the crew there, is that paying for training? Is paying for an Ag spraying course wrong? Can you get a job towing gliders without paying for your glider's license first?

Is he selling 182 time or running a jump place?

What license is required to fly a 182?

I am still waiting for the answer.

You could *somewhat* defend it if the course actually led to a job. If there are more participants than their are jobs available, it's absolutely disgusting. Especially because that 'course' has very little to no value other than the drop zone that offers it.

To add to your list of questions: Can you run a commercial flight operation without training your pilots? Can you run a business without paying your employees? Can you send employees on a company mandated course without paying for their time?

Assuming the info in this topic is correct, then what Skydive Toronto is doing is -luckily- *NOT* the industry standard and should be strongly disapproved of by anyone in the industry.

Some people are defending bonds in other topics. Did we now really end up defending paying for company specific training without even the guarantee of a job? It's not yet Ryanair-pay-for-your-own-737-type-rating-and-we-might-offer-you-a-job bad yet, but we're surely getting there!

As an AvCanada discussion grows longer:
-the probability of 'entitlement' being mentioned, approaches 1
-one will be accused of using bad airmanship

As for Ops Certificate stuff, I don't know much about the details. Some pretty grey (... or dark grey) areas there sometimes. But the owner does get a Flight Instructor to do the training & evaluation / checkouts for whatever that's worth. For those hired, the owner would supervise from inside the aircraft during initial jump operations. Guess that's the 'line training'
Just describing; not condoning.
