Bater
I just went through this with Pacific Region. I had a mix of multi pic night, single pic night and FO night that added up to the requirment.
All TC needed was a fax from the operator that when I was FO there was an actual requirment in the ops manual for this.
I suggest calling TC and talking through your scenerio, Pac Reg was very helpful and Fedexed my log books back to me with my ATPL the next day after recieving the information they needed.
Good luck

Check out the bottom of PAGE 8 of this following .PDF

The Contracting State may authorize that
flight time be credited in full towards the total flight time required if the aircraft is equipped to be
operated by a co-pilot and the aircraft is operated in a multi-crew operation.
I think it is what we are thinking TC may adapt.
According to this... this has only become an issue in the last 10 years or so...

Crediting of Co-pilot Time
The reinstatement of the restriction permitting no more than 50% of co-pilot time to be credited toward the total flight time required for the issue of a higher class of licence returns the Canadian aviation regulatory environment, with respect to crediting co-pilot flight time, to that prevailing prior to the implementation of the CARs on October 10, 1996. These amendments conform to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standard for crediting co-pilot flight time. Negligible impact upon the industry is anticipated from this proposed return to international standards.
I guess it's all just a waiting game now !

Although I understand there is no substitue for PIC time this would at least reward pilots with actual industry experience equal to instructor time. With this program in place, reasonably experienced candidates would now at least be eligible for a captain position if available. What would it really be proving otherwise to be forced to leave a decent job to go fly around in the circuit or downgrade to get the left in a clapped out cargo machine? Anyways this sounds like great news, hopefully it all pulls through..

Great, so those of us who don't/didn't fly around in those machines won't get an ATPL? ie: someone who goes straight from 703 time to 600 series machines...experience as PIC in a 703 operation as well as FO time in a 704/5 operation to actually hold the ATPL...
Say, what's that mountain goat doing up here in the mist?
