just pull the gps on your co-pilots. it's not a regular occerance but do it on occastion just to see how they react. last time I did it buddy pulled out a map, time before diff co-joe diled up the available vor followed the radial and knew we were geting close when the adf's sprung to life. what ever it is just know that there are other roptions available. as for primary navigation via gps. Hate to say it but pull your head out of your a$$. technolagy makes life alot simpler just have a plan if it fails.

P.S. buddy of mine fly's an ATR 42, if the gps doesen't work they ground it
