Re: Navcanada...So was I crying wolf, or barking like a dog?
re ncawos. I don't think any are on the wx cct now. There's been one in Ottawa operating maybe as a test? I thought there has been two others at FSS sites that have been operating but again as testing before fully being implemented? There's a NC document at work (and intranet) with all sites and order of installation. I work tonight so I will post the name of the document. The person has already been to YLL to survey where it will go. He also gave us pictures of the ncawos equipment that will be installed. Not much to them.

The document is called Operations Strategic Plan 2007-2008 [PDF]
Look under Appendix A and you will see the order for the installation of the new NCAWOS. FYI Lloydminster equipment installation is scheduled for August 2008 with the NCAWOS online with the next publication date of either November 20 or January 15 2009. At that time YLL will go part time. That is the latest information we were told.

Yes, Mirabel completed study has been on the website since before Sudbury study.
(Thanks for the link about AWOS. Now that I look at it, I recall falling asleep about page 35

If you take a few minutes to actually read the completed study for St. Anthony, there are graphs of hourly movements on page 14 and 15.
On page 7 and 8 you will find the services provided now and the services that will be provided in the future.
Obviously Hedley's not interesting in reading the facts, but would rather make the cliche argument about statistics.
.
Years ago when the new CYAY airport was built at the end of Hare Bay it was better that 40km to the town site but the IGA(International Grenfell Association) wanted a new facility(at tax payer expense) and they got it. It was known the FSS resource was gonna hit the roof due relocation, employee travel distance and the like but TC who were running the Air Navigation System and certified the airport as well didn't seem to want to take on IGA as they (IGA) always hid behind the hospital service to the Lab coast
There never were enough movements to justify a complete CYAY FSS AOR and Nav Can certainly has the right and duty to allocate it's resources on a business case and further more if the IGA doesn't like it - well tough, let them anti up some bucks towards that facility. IGA has been getting a free ride at tax payer(TC) and ANS provider(NC) for way too long

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahaha. That's hilarious! OurIGA has been getting a free ride at tax payer(TC) and ANS provider(NC) for way too long
government is going to start being careful with the taxpayer dollars?!
Tell ya what. How about you get back to me when the feds stop
blowing billions and billions of dollars per year on the gun registry,
Indian Affairs bureaucracy and the CBC. And how about the bucks
blown on the Quebec sponsorship scandal? Leaky British submarines
that catch fire and sicken their crews?
The list of government corruption and waste goes on, and on, and on.
And you're worried about an airport?!
Heck, just the money that Transport wastes chasing me and .
around would surely pay for this airport. Seriously.
Re: Navcanada...So was I crying wolf, or barking like a dog?
Here's a better one:
CYAY has EIGHT published Instrument Approach Procedures + aerodrome chart to it's single 4000 X 100 paved runway, yes that is correct(check CAP 7). Jesus, there was even talk about RNAV ARR/DEP procedures on top of the 8 IAPs a few years ago when I was lurking around CYOW NC. Maintaining CAP procedures costs NC AIS/NCFIO operational $$$$..
That is the first shot I fired when other places were having IAPs revoked - what is/was the justification for 8 IAPs at CYAY with small total IFR movements

Re: Navcanada...So was I crying wolf, or barking like a dog?
Just to make something clear...the writting was on the wall for ST. Anthony as per the Navcanada`s corporate synergetic mission statement....or whatever the new corporate Blackberry induced BUZZ word statement of the month is...however...I WILL be posting every `movement`the suits @ Navcan make to chop and crop services AND jobs without phuking any other reason but to pretend they ARE making a difference in their self induced back slapping fiscal goals....
Hey Navcan suits...BEAT UUUT!!!
....yer buggin`me
--------break break-------------

I have worked out of Roberval Que AND St. Ain-tony NF....both sets of Navcanada professionals were outstanding...I hold a lot of good memories flying in and out of these 2 airports and have nothing but good things to say about the pro`s that worked there.

Thanks for the reply bro...however...my above post kinda says it all...and if that ain`t enough...Hedley says the rest for me. In fact, what he puuurty much got it down how I feel. I give him my complete trust he will speak for me...however, ONLY ON THIS TOPICcpl_atc wrote:By law, NC cannot turn a profit. Do you think 4,700 movements/year is justification for an FSS site?I am Birddog wrote:Does ANYONE give a shyte? or are you all too lazy to care until it becomes YOUR problem and this slash and burn monster has grown SO large...where no one can stop the Navcanada suits corporate insatiable appetite to gobble up any small FSS or ATC service in exchange for profits by implementing a method of cost cutting methods that most well trained monkeys can do...rather than the current CEO's present salary and his 1,000,000 boneass for doing what a primate could do for a few bananas and a pat on the head.
Talk to me people...

Dearest cpl atc...yup you are correct..I"ll take this one on the chin...its my fault I only speak 4 languages...it is sometimes hard to be correct AND prolific in all four. I will try to improve myself. However your redirection wreaks of fear. Have you run out of counters after my 1 2 punch on that last post of mine?
Re: Navcanada...So was I crying wolf, or barking like a dog?
Dude you should be doing some stand up comedy...because your material is just soooo funny to the point that it's insulting a lot of people here.
Since this is the weekend that apparently this Jesus of Nazareth feller died, I'll be back shortly.
Happy Easter
