unless the country you are in uses system 1 of bouy marker colouring.... then it's the reverse...

if you do a google on COLREGS you'll see the actual rules of the road for boats... and the rules for NAV lights... (they sound very similar, except for the steaming lights...)

as discussed earlier, the red and green make sense with the traffic light analogy... actually the traffic lights were plagerized from nav lights, for that reason....

why red and green... i dunno...

sounds like a transport multiple choice question...sometimes they put questions on the tests that are not NEED to know info.
