Last time I had a disagreement with someone on here I took it upon myself to shoot them a PM.

Maybe YHZchick, you could do the same instead of making comments in a thread unrelated (I feel) to your discussion.

As for MJ, I wasn't at his trail, so I will not speculate. He was creepy, but none the less, in my childhood. And for that it is "weird" that he is gone. If he is innocent, RIP MJ, if not RIH.

And RIP FF. Let's not forget FF.

Sometimes his music was diverting, just like any old hockey game, but what he did was not earth-shaking and affected few of us in any real manner. We love/hate celebrities inversely proportional to how boring and banal our own lives are. I figure that those of you who get passionate about this guy one way or another watch too much TV - you need to get a life.

I stand by what I said in the previous thread but am going to drop it cause honestly MJ ain't worth the keyboard time....I think some people on Avcanada just like to be the opposition no matter what the topic and it certainly pops up in some strange friggin places.

I think more people feel the same way I do about MJ than the other way around but I can't prove it so I will just leave it at that.

This is in totally bad taste but I heard it today: In his will, MJ asked to be made into grocery bags because they are white, plastic and dangerous around small children.

Seriously, he was the greatest performer back in the 70's and 80's.

No your understanding of the legal system is that of most Canadians, He was found Not Guilty which means they could not prove the crime to 100%. You are Either Guilty or Not Guilty, Not Guilty does not mean Innocent just means that the crown or prosecution did not prove the case beyond doubt.

Another thing I am tired of hearing is that life in Canada is only 25 years, its in fact life in prison with a mandatory review after 25 years.

Anyway back to MJ yes he was very talented and a icon of music and a pioneer in his field. All the other stuff well...............................................

Coming home this evening I heard on the car radio they have announced the results of the toxicology tests taken during the autopsy.

Surprisingly, he didn't die of drug abuse or overdose.

It was simple food poisoning. . . he had been eating twelve year old nuts!

I was listening to the radio on Friday and they played a recording of him singing "We are the World" which he co-wrote with Lionel Ritchie. The recording was only him and a piano. While he did sing on key, his vibrato was crap. He is not a great singer. Great performer, awesome dancer, great song writer...but singer. I was pretty shocked.

Can anybody tell me what he's done musically of any significance in the past 20 years?

I don't believe he is dead. It's a scam. annnnd here's why;

i) he was 400 million in debt.
ii) he sold out 50 arena shows world wide for his come back tour.
iii) ticket holders are not going to ask for their money back because it's a collectors item now.
iv) debt problems solved.

Great bass line. I couldn't open your link (not in Canada) but I searched for it and found the Soultrain show. If that's it...yeah good bass line. Nice late 60's candy apple red Jazz with white block inlays and matching headstock....currently worth about $10,000 USD

Thriller spoke to me. Billy Jean was awesome. Michael Jackson in the mid 90's haunted my dreams. It looked like prince blew his load into the ooze from ghost busters and this was the result.

which, ironically was still more creepy to an 8 or 9 year old than this

The mans talent was only equal to is ability to creep people out, but at least when not watching MuchMusic or Youtube, I can dial up a song, close my eyes and remember when MJ was a few shades darker.
