interesting.... I never got an second email after saying "they have everything now".

I dont like these online applications for the reason you are never sure how or if its coming out the other end.

I have a feeling they may have changed that auto-reply email sometime last week. I think candidates who submitted their application earlier in the week got the email asking for additional information, and those who submitted their application later did not. I submitted mine today, and did not receive the reply.

Anyone else care to share when they submitted their application and whether they got the email asking for additional information?

I believe it's current. They're very on the ball with their updates and the personnel that run it are all Airline Folk in Canada and the UK. I would defiantly trust that site.

I sent it as 1 file and addressed the cover letter to "Human Resources". Maybe thats wrong, but I figure there is going to be a number of different people looking over applications.

Here is the reply I got, wouldn't worry to much because I also have wayy more than the minimums and got the same response as you. They probably changed the wordings...

Thanks for that. Probably depends on which server gets to it first for the auto response.

By the time you are a competitive candidate at Air Canada it is assumed that you can fly an airplane, your airplane. Would you prefer that candidates are thrown into a 767 sim to demonstrate a V1 cut or an NDB approach using CDA on the EMJ?

The selection process involved a cog test, medical test, psych eval (I wasn't subjected to that one thank God) and the interview. If you get the call, I believe the interview has greatest emphasis. Makes sense. Anyone can fly an airplane, but do you really want a jackass sitting beside you? I am the exception that proves the rule. IMHO the cog test is not as critical in candidate selection but that they are collecting data on the group as a whole and if due to injury/illness in the future they have a benchmark of your cognitive skills to compare. FWIW.

Good luck, as someone pointed out, this is probably the beginning of a large hiring wave but it looks conservative for now as we await the results of the age 60 Remedy and a Judicial Review sometime in November. Once the numbers of returning retirees is known a better projection of new hires will be known.

Last round the emails for actually inviting folks to interviews were written in a variety of font sizes and colours, which caused most email servers to classify them as "junk".

No idea if it will be the same this time, but it makes sense to check all of your mail to ensure that you don't miss the call.

I believe that the first round interviews are on this week...

Anyone want to venture a guess on date for the PIT course?
