A poster who assumes that a previous poster doesn't understand this should reread the thread more carefully.PatLaP wrote: A pilot who assumes that he can cross a runway without authorization should reread the PSTAR study and reference guide.

Take it easy RVgrin ! I never said that you crossed a runway without authorization!
I was just adding a point that if a pilot is about to cross a runway and he/she are not sure if they are authorized or not, he/she must stop and ask!
It's all about safety.
We just have to remember from this incident that shit happen and we must stay vigilant all the time.

A bit of reverse thrust on jazz's end and we wouldn't be having this discussion
Looks like everyone walked away with no injuries, and live to tell another tale. Let's all learn from it and apply it to our daily operations.

It is an important point. But since it was, in fact, the very point I was making in the first place, it seemed that perhaps you misunderstood the flow of conversation.PatLaP wrote: I was just adding a point that if a pilot is about to cross a runway and he/she are not sure if they are authorized or not, he/she must stop and ask!
I was responding to a well-meaning (but shortsighted) suggestion that we eliminate explicit runway crossing instructions, and in doing so, gave an example of why we need them in the first place.
I couldn't agree more, and its good you clearly added the information. Student pilots read this forum and they could also have misunderstood the flow of conversation. Thank-you.PatLaP wrote: It's all about safety.
