Re: 126.7 In NWO
Why do I need to call you in ZKE while I'm on the ground in YFA? That's where you've lost me.
My original point was that calling final and down & clear on 126.7 is unnecessary. You're making those calls on 122.8/123.2 and whoever is on the ground at or in the vicinity of your destination airport should be monitoring which ever of those frequencies is applicable.

In related news, there is another DH8, in the same paint scheme, but actually owned by the mine that they serve, is operated under its civil reg, and apparently under part 604, once again as their 705 certificate is pending.short bus wrote:who's transcanada?
Well, that shows how little you know, and we can all now ignore you. I believe they've been flying 705 for years with their 748s.
Back to the original point of the post. 5 min out on both frequencies. I call final and down and clear on the atf only. Taxiing, and airborne on both frequencies. Nobody on 126.7 cares if you're down and clear. It's an enroute frequency. Listen, Listen, Listen.
On another note, I don't care if you're off Kasibonika for the flight levels. Say the altitude you're passing through, not the altitude you're going to be at in 20 min when you finally get there and are controlled anyway. Also, say where you are at the beginning of your transmission, so I can ignore you and go back to my book instead of having to listen to your whole schpeel. End of rant.

So since they've been operating HS748s for years then they don't have to do anything to add DH8A and DH8C to their certificate??? But seeing as you know so much, how about you explain why there are 2 dash 8s in Wasaya colours but none flying under a Wasaya call sign!glorifiedtaxidriver wrote:

The -300 is owned by Goldcorp but operated and maintained by Wasaya. The -100 belongs to Wasaya but is being operated for the time being by Regional One. Wasaya hasn't operated 705 passenger aircraft in quite a while so it isn't just simply a case of "adding" to their certificate. Bearskin Airlines will be doing the same thing initially with their Saab 340; wet lease from Calm Air until they have their own aircraft and crew/ops set up.tca wrote:So since they've been operating HS748s for years then they don't have to do anything to add DH8A and DH8C to their certificate??? Re: 126.7 In NWO
I think the Bearskin one will be a bit more difficult since they need the whole 705 certificate, where as Wasaya already holds the cert just needs to get a F/A dept and stuff back
