Fair response and good on you Stephen. Incidently, I have never had a problem with the service your staff provides, sometimes its too good and I ended up spending way too much money. But the charts that I need never seem to be available when I need them. Specifically, US sectionals and the green books and that alone is unfortunately the reason that I buy at other shops now.

I'll be the first to admit we've had issues with maintaining strong inventory levels, and we've had a few of our staff leave for flying jobs recently (most still work for us occasionally) so the employees encountered may still have been receiving training (although I assure you ALL employees of Aviation World are fully entitled to work in Canada and are most likely all Canadian citizens).
We also had an issue with our heating unit as of late, and experienced a long delay in replacement due to the need for the GTAA to issue a NOTAM and shut down the runway in order to allow the crane in to install the new heating unit.
The downside of having a store located under the approach path I suppose.
For the record, Aviation World is still under its original ownership (Len Neath, a former AC 747 Captain), and the business isn't going anywhere.
Two years ago AW opened our third store, our first in the United States, in Chicago.
Due in large part to the state of the economy in the US, this store has been a considerable struggle to support and our inventory levels in the Canadian business have suffered.
We have made some corrections to our business and ensure you that over the next few months we will be returning to the strong stock levels and customer service that built this business.
Thank you to everyone for the feedback - it's appreciated.
Sincerely,
Stephen Neath
Ops Manager
Aviation World Canada Inc.
I personally went in to take a look today as I had an hour or so to kill in Toronto was very pleased to see the selves full of stuff I would have liked to buy but probably couldn't afford
FlySafe all.

Re: Aviation World (YYZ)
Being the student I am, AV World is mostly just a fun place to browse while taking an afternoon off from the rampie-grind to watch the real metal come and go. Service has always been great. Can't really comment on stock as I don't have the money to bother actually consider buying anything :c)
But I really wanted to commend the AV Rep who took all the heat and finished his speech thanking everyone for their input. Stand-up character!
AV world will always be a great place in my books...even if it only carries a Rookie's weight in the real world.

Classy reply Mr. Neath! For that I will continue to shop with you guys instead of mail order. I don't paying a bit more if need be to support a company that admits their shortcomings and tries to fix them.
I use the YVR store. Never had an issue with them. Prompt calls when out of stock items are back in stock...

Re: Aviation World (YYZ)
As a retired Yellowknife-based pilot and author of an international aviation best-seller, I would be reluctant to send anyone to Aviation World, for anything a professional needs or wants. My experience with this "firm" is: suppliers are relegated to the non-human status of "vendor," and vendors, according to the Neath Company Handbook, do not have to be paid within ninety days...or ever, it would seem. My advice: make your purchases from reputable companies where professionalism is first and foremost, and let the "amateurs" sell over-inflated price models.
