Pretty racist views coming from someone who is " doing something for this world "nark wrote:If you think those rag-head hodgees killing their own people overseas is none of my business, you have some balls saying that to me.
Apparently your just another person who would rather burry their head in the sand then face the real facts that America is padding it's own pockets with the lives of it's citizens. There are people in the U.S that still think Iraq had something to do with 9/11. Too bad most of the terrorist involved were from Egypt and not a single one was Iraqi....fact is there is no evidence of any Iraqi involvment what so ever.
I wait patiently for the voice of reason to be heard by the citizens of America. Unfortunately, right now people would rather stay ignorant of the truth then face the fact they were blaitantly lied too about pretty much everything involving Iraq and 9/11.
Even when millions of people marched the streets of the world protesting the Invasion of Iraq because they knew it was all bullshit, people like nark believed they knew better.
Canada is doing more in the fight against terrorism with soldiers in Afganastan, where the terrorist camps were mostly located then the americans, who are only creating tomorrows generation of terrorist by killing people fighting the occupation and systematic drain and rape of their country.

Nark,
You obviously do not know the story behind Lynch's heroic stunt. They screwed up big time by getting a whole convoy lost and into a hostile town. Then they tried to find their way out of the town, twice they had to turn around in dead end streets. try that with a military logistics convoy, pretty well undefended. The Iraqis had ample time to go and get their riffles and start shooting at these ducks. Lynch is not to blame for a @#$! up of this magnitude.
It's the leadership of this unprofessional army that you joined so proudly. Because you are a Canadian, when they shoot you in the back there will be no apologies, I am sure.
Go for it man; live your dream...

War leading cause of hunger, says agency

ROME - War is now the leading cause of world hunger, outstripping weather and natural disasters, according to a United Nations report released Monday.
The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) says more than 35 per cent of food emergencies between 1992 and 2003 were the result of conflict and economic problems.
That compares to 15 per cent from 1986 to 1991.
Hunger hot spots
The report was presented in Rome Monday at a meeting of the Committee on World Food Security.
It says there are now 36 hunger hot spots in the world, 23 of them in Africa.
Angola was the worst-hit. It has had an almost permanent food emergency since 1986, most of it caused by war.
"Armed conflicts are now the leading cause of world hunger with the effects of HIV/AIDS and climate change not far behind," the FAO says.
The report warned that the UN goal of reducing the world's hungry by half by the year 2015, is almost certain to be missed if current trends continue.

Don't give me that "My opinion is more valid cause I'll give my real name" BS. Anybody on here who's opinion really matters to me, knows who I am.
It would appear to me that the United States policy is to make sure the rich keep getting richer and the poor keep getting poorer. The articles below are hardly examples of how "defenders of freedom" should be acting.

As in Christopher Reeves?? WOW, look everyone it's SUPERMAN!!!! He's alive and well and going to fight for freedom in a country that doesn't even want him there!!
It's all about the oil, why else would the americans come up with some off the wall reason to invade other countries?? They brainwash people to believe that it's about terrorism, but it all comes back to the oil.

You start with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience before you empty the bag of luck.
LJ, if you are a Canadian and you come from Canada then I have a big problem with your criticism. How do you know you are not brainwashed? But lets be realistic, it's just to easy to just point the finger and simply blame the government. Everyone's accountable for their own actions right? So instead of being ignorant (and of course typical) as you have demonstrated in your posts, why not put down the winchester for a second and actually try with other words or means and make us believe that I am wrong in my observations and that there is a good purpose and more than just what I have said to being an "All American".
And I think many People have tried to point out the error of being " Bold and Beautiful", thats one of their soap operas btw but I understand them because they are the Super power of the world so how can they be wrong? But I don't like it when they steal Ideas from somewhere and then call it theirs, as in "Spying"
Who knew I could catch so many fish with just one cast.
I'll try to get to all of your ingenius comments.
If we went to Iraq for oil, wouldn't you think we would have pumped some out of the ground during the last 2 years we've been there?
As for the hodgees there now killing each other, many if not all, are not from Iraq. They are Syrian, Saudi, Egyptian etc... We are fighting terrorist's not Iraqi's. There is a huge difference.
Iraq harboured terrorists, so did Afgahnistan. Thats why we went in. Even though most of the hijackers on 9/11 were Saudi, we didn't go there because they don't harbour terrorist's.
How can you sympathize with people who think killing each other is a great way of proving a point to the western culture? I really don't get your "leave them alone, it's none of our busness" attitude. You are saying that if an old lady is getting mugged across the street you wouldn't do a thing. Who do we stick up for?
I get my information from the people who are there. Did you hear about platoon of Marines who took off their Kevlar's (helmet) and pointed their weapons to the ground and got on one knee as a funeral persession passed down the street? Of course not, because that doesn't interest any of the news producers from any network in any country. Thats a damn good way of comunicating to the Iraqis why we are there. I probably have hundreds of stories like that from my fellow Marines that have been there.
Abu Garib, I have nothing to defend the stupid ass Army Guardsmen. They did an entirly stupid thing and got caught. The Army is full of examples of what not to do.
Expat, I know of Jessica Lynch's story quite well. We were taught that in order what not to do in a convoy. For one, when they stopped they didn't set up a secuirity perimeter. Another huge reason their M-16's jammed is that they never performed continous action on them. Thats a Marine term for cleaning and maintaining them. I'm not blaming Lynch for that fiasco, because she had no authority to anything about it. It's just a great example of how she is not a hero, as the media here portrayed her as.
And If I havn't stated it enough, I'm not in the Army. I'm in the Marines, our boot camp is comparable to their Ranger school. Every Marine, no matter what job (helo mech, transport driver etc...) is trained as an infantry rifleman before attending school for their specific job. Every Officer is trained as a infantry platoon comander, again before any schooling they do for their specific job. IE. Any pilot can substatute
as a platoon comander. We are they only military in the NATO forces that does this. We are the best for a reason.
If I was a racist I would say all the brown skin people should die, but I didn't. I don't have a space reserved in my heart for those Islam worshipping hodgees that strap bombs on themselves and kill innocent people to prove whatever point they have. I also know that the proper readings from the Koran does not say to kill any of the unbeilvers. Thats why every Islamic person isn't a phychopath like these people that I'm gladly going over to kill.
Overwelming protests against the war?
Lets take New York for example. Lets say that it has a population of 8 million. There were about 2-300,000(I'm being very generous) protestors out there in 2003. Thats 7.7 million left not protesting the war. Lets say 2 million of those didn't support the war either, but have better things to do than to disrupt traffic and many of the cities other vital services. Thats still 5.7 million in favour of going to knock on Saddams door. I get this info from various polls taken during that time supporting the war (Anywhere from 55%-75% of people in favour)
I leave you to think amongst yourselves.

That's pretty funny that you say it has nothing to do with the oil....ironic that Bush had the Taliban as his guests trying to convince them to build that pipeline through Afghanistan from the Caspian sea, but as soon as they decide against it they're enemy #1. Also ironic, that the new leader of Afghanistan is one of the advisors to a Texas based oil company that Bush was involved in..............who after was put into power, convinced the other countries to build this pipeline. I mean what wool is over your eyes man? Again, when it comes to Iraq, it's about the oil....What gives the Americans the right to go in with their military to oust a leader who hasn't attacked them?? Did I like Saddam or agree with his policy, no...however I don't support you going in and destroying a country because of it. Harbouring terrorists, come on man that's the weakest excuse I've ever heard. It's american arrogance thinking that they should be involved in every thing that goes on in the world dictating what countries can and can not do. If you think that there aren't people getting rich because of the oil fields being seized then you truly are naive.nark wrote: Iraq harboured terrorists, so did Afgahnistan. Thats why we went in. Oh Nark. Poor little tough Lt. Nark. If you're happy to be going anywhere to kill anyone then you're already gone. Yours is not to question why; yours is but to do or die. So go do and die. At least your family will be happy in the knowledge that you were killed "defending freedom" and "protecting the innocents". Just like the estimated 120,000+ civilians who have been killed since your (and my) glorious country illegally first set foot in Iraq two years ago. By the way, that's almost as much as the number lost in the worst natural disaster in modern history -- last year's tsunami. Congratulations on making the world a safer place. I'm sure the families of all those dead Iraqis are grateful.
To serve your country is a noble cause. To blindly go wherever you're told is your duty. To buy the lies and justifications that were puked upon the world by your Commander in Chief and his advisors in order to get Congress to approve his actions is pathetic. Do yourself a favour: Read a f*cking newspaper and stop getting your "news" from television. In fact, read a few different newspapers (and I don't mean tabloids) to give yourself a wider perspective. Your belief and trust in why you're there is symptomatic of what is wrong with a huge chunk of the American people. No one is actually searching out real information. Instead, they watch their Fox News or CNN, and form opinions based on the 10-second sound bytes they see and hear. This is why they re-elected G.W.. It's not because he has any actual skills or leadership qualities. It's because, for the most part, Americans are totally ignorant of what is actually going on in the world, not to mention in their own country. And worse, they're scared. The strongest country on the face of the earth and they're all scared shitless. This fact was used to huge advantage by the Bush administration and his cronies in the media world in order to secure his re-election. Here's a tip: Fox News and CNN and all the others ARE NOT NEWS. They're 24-hour TV shows. Another tip: These networks are owned by some of the richest people in the world, and they tailor their content to suit the interests of said owners.
Read a newspaper.
So go and have fun killing all those "hodgees" you f*cking biggot. But how will you ensure that the ones you kill are bad guys? They all look alike, don't they? I know: When they blow both your arms and half your face off with one of their car bombs or in one of their ambushes, make sure to get their names so you can tell your buddies which ones to kill. And have fun with your life back in the States when you do get home. I hear they're doing a lot for the 15,000+ permanently maimed soldiers when they finally get out of the veterans' hospitals.
It is your duty to follow orders. It is also your duty not to follow orders that you think are unlawful. Know the difference. I guess it's a good thing that Bush decided to stay out of the international court system. If he hadn't, he, his administration, and all of you sheep could actually be tried as war criminals. Remember: a war of aggression is an ILLEGAL war. That's what you're fighting now. Oh no, wait. I forgot. "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!"
A side note: To any other enlisted men or women reading this post. I do not mean to offend you. Many or most of you have probably found yourselves in a situation you can't control and never expected. Do some research. Iraq has been producing ~2.0 million barrels per day since November 2004. That's over 6 billion liters of oil in the last 7 months. I'd consider 6 billion liters of oil to be "some". http://www.eia.doe.gov/emeu/cabs/iraq.html
As for the hodgees there now killing each other, many if not all, are not from Iraq. They are Syrian, Saudi, Egyptian etc... We are fighting terrorist's not Iraqi's. There is a huge difference.
Who told you that, a recruiting officer? Did you think Iraq or Afghanistan were in the middle of civil wars or something? Again, do some research of your own rather than just repeating the drivel you're obviously being fed. On this issue, I reccomend this: http://www.time.com/time/archive/previe ... 62,00.html

Haha.. Okay, bud. There's no shred of evidence linking Al-Qaeda with the government of Iraq. Never has been. Anybody who knows even the first thing about the Middle East knows that Bin Laden and Hussein would be far more likely to try to kill each other than to help each other. Hussein was a secular socialist, the polar opposite of Bin Laden. Bin Laden's existence is devoted to the destruction of men like Saddam Hussein.
It's sort of amusing that "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" type tactics are used far more by the US than their enemies.
How can you sympathize with people who think killing each other is a great way of proving a point to the western culture? I really don't get your "leave them alone, it's none of our busness" attitude. You are saying that if an old lady is getting mugged across the street you wouldn't do a thing. Who do we stick up for?
You think this has even the first thing to do with Western Culture? Again, learn something about the region you're trying to "educate" us about before you buy lock stock and barrel into the tripe that the US government has used to justify this war.
By the way, who are you trying to help? The ~20% of Iraqis who currently think the war was a good thing?
If you think the Iraq misadventure has anything to do with humanitarian causes, you're off your rocker. Not to mention the 15 or 20 other countries around the world that have even worse abuses of human rights than Iraq ever did. Not many American soldiers in Myanmar or Zimbabwe.
Did you know that Uzbekistan, a US ally, is known to boil people to death? Whiskey tango foxtrot!?! Saddam kills some of his own people over a decade ago with weapons the US sold to him, and the US goes to war to punish him, but the leader of a nation that pays lip service to the US is allowed to boil political prisoners to death?
If I was a racist I would say all the brown skin people should die, but I didn't.
Wow, so it's okay to call black people whatever name you want and make them use seperate washrooms, schools, restaurants and make them stand up when you want to sit down? None of this involves killing them, so it's perfectly acceptable, according to your mindf*ckingly idiotic logic. You're a racist. You can't even discuss this war without using racial stereotypes.
I call bullshit on you being a Lieutenant in the USMC. You sound like some highschool student who wants us to think he's important.
Where'd you get your degree? What class were you in at OCS? What training did you recieve at Quantico? What unit are you attached to?

Nark,
You seem to paint the muslims with a wide brush, and this is part of the problem, not the solution. While I admit that the American officers are thought that they are the best trained in the world, I think that they lack any serious political knowledge. That is exactly what Washington wants. Soldiers should be ignorant killing machines.
This is why they cannot identify their targets and kill indiscriminately all dark colored people wearing suspicious clothes. I mean if they had killed 100,000 enemies in Irak, the war would have been over a long time ago...
To confirm this point, the super efficient and well funded intelligence agencies also do a very poor job of profiling air passengers.
Of course, after spending six months in Iraq, you still will not be able to tell the difference between Shias, Sunnies, Kurds, Pashtous, Hasare, etc..
You probably will not have been invited to share a meal with an Iraqi family, or to attend a wedding. Being in the US Forces, this is normal, you are afraid to meet the people you are supposedly liberating.
You will only eat frozen food brought in from the USA at great expense by airlift. You will come back home with pictures of your buddies, or some lousy shots of the street, taken from your APC as you speed down the road to avoid being targetted and blown up by an IED.
You will then be an expert on Iraq and get a job at some Marine school teaching Iraq tactics.
You may even talk on CNN about your great combat experience, and how you know how the Iraqis feel. People will believe you, because you will have been there.

[Did you know that Uzbekistan, a US ally, is known to boil people to death? Whiskey tango foxtrot!?! Saddam kills some of his own people over a decade ago with weapons the US sold to him, and the US goes to war to punish him, but the leader of a nation that pays lip service to the US is allowed to boil political prisoners to death?
Don't forget there cm, Saddam made a death threat against Dadda Bush. Nobody does that and gets away with it, unless, that is, that country can muster a fighting force and armaments that have not been wiped out by a previous war and 10 years of sanctions! Then, as with all chicken hawk cowardly regimes, it's time for diplomacy.

swede,
Please do not go into this and start bashing Uzbekistan. It is my second home now and I am spending a lot of time here. May be they have boiled some extremist in order to get the names of other terrorists. But in Afghanistan, where everything is normal??? they stone to death innocent women who have been raped and cannot find a husband. The family is the first to throw.
In Saudi Arabia, they pay up to 50K for young virgins from eastern Europe and after sex they execute them. These two countries are US allies. Open your eyes people...
Forget CNN and their Bull...
Talk to people who travel and know.
The reason Uzbekistan is so much in the news is because they kicked out the British Ambassador (PNG)last year after he made some too direct comments about human rights abuses.
For those who do not know, this country is 90% Muslim, but very moderate and if the authorities are not carefull, they will end up like Chechnya, or Georgia.

I'll say this as simply as I can...... Nark get your head out of your ass and open your eyes....
" Millions of people protested, in approximately 800 cities around the world, and it was listed by the 2004 Guinness Book of Records as the largest mass protest movement in history "
Face it.....you've been lied to and it seems everyone else in the world knows it.....even you know it, but your just to ignorant to admit it.
Fact is, Nark, to your government, your worth less to them than a barrel of oil.....Haliburton even makes money off your death if your killed....sad, but true.
Do yourself a favor and educate yourself before you re-post

Sometimes I think it's a shame when I get feelin' better when I'm feelin no pain.

Okay millions of people protested around the world, hell a world record. What is the population of this earth we live on? 6 billion. I'll concede there are many that have no idea whats going on, and even some that do watch the news, but will be shot if they expressed their opinions. Their is still the quiet majority out there.

I don't give to shits if you think I'm even a Marine. Tell me the three ways to become an Officer and I'll tell you all you want to know on how I got where I am today. And since you know more about the Marines than I do, tell me about the Pro/Con marks. That'll be the feel good bonus points if you even get it.
I do concede one point I earlier made. Iraq has been producing oil prior to us going in, however what I tried to convey, is that we have not beefed up production since being there over 2 years now.
I see it in every "debate" I get into about this. All Al Queda members are terrorists, however all terrorists are not Al Queda members. Now go re-read what I wrote about harbouring terrorists.
Thanks for the vote of confidence, but I'm worth alot more alive than I am dead, thanks to the many dollars they've spent training me. My Life Insurance (SGLI, Which the government underwrites) is alot more than an average civilians policy is. They want to increase it as well. So if I do die, they lose twice.
Since we are just the big green killing machine, why were Marines the first people into help victims after the tsunami? Where was everybody else? Where was fast acting Canada on that?

Since it is quite obvious you comprehend only what you want to, I'm not going to give you an english comprehension lesson.

Nark:
I believe you're a marine. I believe you're an officer. I believe you're a fool. I believe you may be dead in a year for a bullshit reason. I believe you're young and have no comprehension of what's really in store for you. I believe you owe it to yourself, your family and your country to grow up and start asking real questions and seaking real answers. I don't believe you will.
No one is questioning the need or purpose of the Marines or any other branch of the armed forces. People outside of the U.S., and many inside, are questioning the real reason you're going there. Why is the rest of the world so angry? Do you actually think that they've ALL got it wrong? That the U.S. just has some kind of insight that no one else does? Many of your own top military leaders were against this war in terms of justification and in terms of execution. Do you think you know more than them? Can you honestly not see the steaming mounds of bullsh*t that have been coming out of the White House over the past three years? If not, then really, what intellectual value do you actually hold for any of us?
Do us a favour and stop posting. You're a fool.

Look, Mummy. There's an airplane up in the sky...
I would just like to thank the Marines for putting their asses on the line day in day out while I sit here in front of my computer eating Cheetos and masturbating.

Kofi Annan stated that a war with Iraq without a United Nations Security Council Resolution would violate the United Nations Charter. After the war started Kofi Annan stated the war with Iraq violated the United Nations Charter. Since it violates the United Nations Charter it also violates the Constitution of the United States of America, Article VI.
Both chief UN weapons inspectors, prior to the war, stated that it was very, very unlikely Iraq had any WMD that could pose a threat to anyone. Go ahead listen to both MP3's from Scott Ritter (chief weapons inspector Iraq, Marine) prior to the war with Iraq. Funny thing is he was absolutely right.

Who would have guessed that both Chief weapons inspectors would have been right and the Bush administration (politicians) would have been wrong about WMD in Iraq?
ahhh the drum beats of patriotism sure do produce lemmings.

Where, exactly did I say that? I'm not going to disparage the US Marine Corps, I have a lot of respect for people who are willing to put their ass on the line to defend their country. The thing about Iraq is, it doesn't have anything to do with the defense of the United States. And since you know more about the Marines than I do
Actually I anticipated this response, and Saddam was a known supporter of Hamas, but that's been going on for years, and it's Israel's problem to deal with. It doesn't consitute a justification for war. All we heard about before the war was the alleged connection to Al-Qaeda, which is blatantly false, and the WMD's, which are obviously not there either. There are a lot of "reasons" people who support the war can bring up, but it just doesn't jive when all the "reasons" given before the war have been proven false. All Al Queda members are terrorists, however all terrorists are not Al Queda members. Now go re-read what I wrote about harbouring terrorists.
This has got nothing to do with english comprehension, everything to do with your statement that you're not a racist because you stopped short of saying you wanted them dead. Just because you didn't state you wanted to kill them doesn't mean you're not a racist. Congratulations, by the way, on making a post that didn't include a racial slur. You're moving up in the world.Since it is quite obvious you comprehend only what you want to, I'm not going to give you an english comprehension lesson.
The whole problem with this Iraq occupation has been that it never was justifiable by any legal or other means. There was no end to the cataloque of lies and half truths which spewed out of the Bush junta and his lapdog Tony Blair to justify it. If anyone high profile disagrees with the war, they are subject to a smear campaign or worse. Take the example of British MP George Galloway. He had to travel to a senate hearing a week ago to set the record straight, he did that so effectively that the minutes of his lambasting were purged off of the record. He made the chair of the comittee, Senator Norm Coleman, look like the driveling buffoon he is. Whatever, the war machine continues unabated, people like Narc are just more grist for the mill.
