Personally, I like a free market system. If I can get a similar product in any type of consumerism for a significantly lower price, especially if the convenience factor is or is nearly nullified, I have no problems going elsewhere to get it.

Here in Europe, it's cheaper to fly than drive. Go to Easyjet or Ryanair' websites and plug in a cople of routings. We flew from Geneva to Edinburgh, tax in, for less than $100 each this pst September. A couple of year ago, our daughter flew from Oslo to Dublin for St.Patrick's Day for EUR 30, round trip with taxes nd charges.

If you do sell it though, it becomes that product's market value. As much as people may lament higher airfare's north of the border the fact remains that people are still paying said higher airfares. Not enough people are going south to warrant a change in the market price. There are lots of reasons for this. The main one is probably convinience, though there are other factors at play too.

The reason I use KBUF instead of CYYZ is twofold. First, we all realize the relatively lower price and second, going on 3 or 4 separate 400 series highways, contending with a lot more traffic, more people and more hassle. I've had a much easier time at KBUF every time I've went. Not to mention the trip to the cheesecake factory is always in order. Not to mention it's equidistant for me between the two.

What we're talking about is two different economies, political and government systems. Canada has higher taxes, less competition, and a more "democrat", "socialist" based system, where in the US, there's no support, the competition is cut-throat, and the taxes are low. Some would say you're not supporting your country, your economy. Meanwhile, others would say your an opportunist. Take it as you will.
