How much is a fraction? I have an Insight G2 Monitor with Carb Temp readout so always wondered about running LOP with Carb Heat on. Carbureted O-360. Thanks

The method for adding carb heat is to lean until you just barely notice roughness, then add carb heat until it's smooth again. Essentially you're leaning the "worst fed" cylinder until it just wants to quit, then you smooth out the mixture and fuel distribution with carb heat... That brings the mixture up again on the "worst" cylinder and everything smooths out again.

You couldn't come up with LOP = Low on Petrol?

Yup, I thought about it (I had a few hours), but I get enough "Englander" on PPRuNe. Instead, I thought of Michelle, and there you are....

So you miscalculated your fuel and almost ran out, but got home on fumes anyway? Somebody's gotta say it...'good job'.
