One of the pilots is in the hospital, more passengers wandering around the area, and being picked up by peel police.

680 news had me scratching my head when they reported it to be a Airbus 737 with over 200 pax on board.

Rain storm at the time was heavy

Just heard the report on the radio... no report of fatalities. Hopefull it'll stay that way.

Godspeed to all passengers, crew and emergency crews responding to the crash... hopefully the ambulances will be able to make their way to the hospitals in time thru that parkinglot we call the 401.

Global has some ass describing his "Opinion" about the conditions. Dickhead has a private and is working on his commercial. Doesn't understand windshear either.

I hate the media!

Interesting. I'm not gonna speculate, just point out something.

A guy says he saw the plane get hit by lightning as it landed.

A pax says the power failed just before they touched down.

The fly-by-wire airplane ran off the end of the runway.

They are sticking to the "everyone lived" part on MSNBC which is great.

As I sit in the United States with yankee coverage on the TV and live internet Canadian feed from Global and CBC, I must say, we're so much better than these people :)

Glad everyone is safe to this point. Keep it going.

From Global:

"The airport had been operating under vigilant security measures in the wake of deadly bombings in London."

Is the fear mongering really necessary? Like really that rots my socks

This guy should never have given his name to Global. Now everyone knows his name and will remember when they see his resume pass over the desk. I was watching this at work with everyone here and we all agree he's a knob and voted unanimously that he'll never work here.

Things are going to definately pick up for YXU, YHM and YOW

The hammer almost got that KLM with low fuel, but he ended up heading for Syracuse NY instead.

Oh yeah and this from CAAviation.com:

Ryan posted:

Another eye witness says it was struck by lightning on touchdown and lost power.

Favorite comment by newscaster so far on the incident:
"The airplane was facing into the wind which is a good indication it was landing, otherwise it would be going the other way for a take off. I know this as I'm a pilot myself."
Yeah, I wanna go flying with this yahoo.

Thoughts with those who got out, and those who did not.

Geez

I'm reading the eyewitness accounts and i'm thinking what a crock of shit. why do people that have no clue offer their uneducated advice. One said "the plane was coming in way too hight". give me a break in poor wx the airplane will be coming in on the glide path.

So if you don't know what you are talking about, shut the F$9k UP!!

Anyways i'm glad everyone got out alright.
