According to a Flight Safety newsletter a pilot friend e-mails me the airplane was a B737 and the lady was sitting in the rear so it must have been a rear door. If the door warning system is anything like anything I have dealt with, almost any movement of the handle will turn on the door ajar light but one women (and 10 strong men) would not be able to unlock the door. The handle would likely break first because pressurization holds a lock in place. But that only gets the door unlocked, now you have to get it open and that would be impossible with the airplane even partially pressurized. The only danger would be at about 1000 to 500 ft AAE where the airplane becomes depressurized prior to landing. I will check with a B727 friend and see if he knows what type of door it is.
The average pilot, despite the somewhat swaggering exterior, is very much capable of such feelings as love, affection, intimacy and caring.
These feelings just don't involve anyone else.
