Well, I did just install that whizzy GPS Tracker
Flight Timer Lite cpncrunch recommended on my phone. I wish I did it before I was fumbling with a pencil forgetting to get the time off the ground then on the ground for the what several hudreth or whatever time today's flight was.

Speaking of the "Bad Man™", is there a parole eligibility time in cases such as his? I dislike his less socially palatable aspects as much as anyone here and have complained about them, as have many others. However, I'd like to think though, that anybody can change their play habits for the better and ought to be given the chance to prove it. Gotta admit, he does have the ability to keep a discussion and the forum in general, interesting and usefully informative most of the time, when he so chooses. So, I'm saying that I personally wouldn’t think poorly of a moderator decision to rescind his ban at some point, even given the number of shorter bans and second, second chances apparently already having been doled out. Reinstating it is merely a matter of a few keystrokes after all, should it be proven justified.

Threads are discussions. I don't mind if they evolve. I'm glad the post was still there to read.

Low level flybys are always good.

Yes. It's difficult to defend him in this arena. I am not very well behaved here and the only warning I ever received was a note or two in my post that was moderator edited saying something like.
Come on Beef, you know better.
So they might be biased against him, but they are not really sweeping away everyone that does not toe the line.

Yes, very difficult to defend him here. I wouldn't say the mods are biased against him though. Over the years, I've had the impression of just the opposite. Couldn't figure out how he wasn't getting banned. Thought he must have part ownership in the site or something. Anyways.. looking back to my early grade school years, I remember pretty much all kids' manners eventually improving with enough time-out from the sandbox. Just sayin'.

Edit: Maybe biased against him now, with reason - I don't know the whole story, but I wouldn't say they were before.

It's tough, he is a veritable wealth of knowledge. However, we have several, with all due respect, more advanced generation members on this site who are equally knowledgeable, but aren't almost always hostile pricks.

My favourite CS moment was when some guy was asking some perhaps ill-advised questions about training and CS chimed in with the usual, calling the new generation "a bunch of coddled pansies". The guy then responded, "I just completed 2 tours in Afghanistan".

CS did not respond to the thread after that.

Invoking 'tour of duty' into that discussion commanded respect, as you've witnessed, while that silences it unfortunately as well.

The nephew came back from two tours there, and the remarkable thing is, was seriously nervous/concerned preparing to go out that first time. Sure happy to be back .... a different man, very thankful, commands respect, happily married with two kids, and very pleasant to talk to.

I didn't see an issue of silencing great discussion; was more about keeping it going, notwithstanding any variably agressive quirks the sensitive are so quick to object on. If the "equally knowledgeable" get too carefull, the topics bog down or reduce ... and sometimes that's good... but going out on a limb to say something solid ... taking some risk ... keeps things alive for responders to contemplate.

Adjustment for thread drift ... this was about contemplating purchase of a Piper Cub or similar price-range (and an associated reality check).

Judging by recent activity on PPruNe, I don't think see any evidence of interest or readiness to come back anyway.

The PPRune Canada forum gets maybe one post every other day. It is also heavily populated with people who were either banned from Avcanada, or left in a huff after regular posters where deemed insufficently respectfull of their skygodlyness.

I believe there is a high level of causation in those two facts......

Ladies, Gentlemen, regular guys and persons like me, everyone is welcome here and thread jacking is acceptable in this one. Those waffles need toppings, my preference being fruit and whipped or ice cream.

Going back a page I miss-used "Lose" accidentally in my statement intending to describe my loose intention to rent for a while. Though I will obviously post an alert if I buy something.

Current challenge is to fly 12 times in 2015. I think I will make a new thread for tracking. Or maybe I will tally it in my signature.

On a related note, I wish Barnstormers would make their listings sortable/searchable by country.

They do - just click on the Search link, then there is a Country field. Just type in Canada.

Man... aren't we all lazy and useless. I was thinking the same thing about Barnstormers.

Of course--like pretty much all aviation websites  --the layout of Barnstormers is terrible.

Sorry Rowdy.

If the fuel requirement was not so huge coupled to the possible engine issues from sitting for three years. I would suggest we do some sort of AvCanada partnership on this.
http://www.csplane.com/7170.htm

I found it doing an advanced "Canada" search on Barnstormers.

I might have to scoop it, if the scratch and lose ticket my wife bought me, actually scores the hundred thousand dollars she said it will. Though I should probably waste that kind of loot on my rental flying scheme, upgrading the neglected Harley to a bike with a touring frame and a break from February at Disneyworld.

Well, what 'appen?

Seems I can't afford to stay current, rediculous. I'm gaining weight too. Pretty soon I might be my pre-AvCanada self. [insert profanities here]
