Re: I'm going to court
Lots of time on my hands, and it will be interesting to see how the courts will handle this in a period of the pandemic, I get a feeling they will refuse to hear the case, probably just refer it back to TC for them to deal with the situation.

Re: I'm going to court
this is not a joke. this guy is still flying.
somewhere around 66 or 67, can't hear squat, severely overweight, bad attitude, complaints about his way of doing things galore, and this guy is still flying commercially in a turboprop............
apparently, he had a check ride with a tc inspector and he got signed off. about his hearing.
if he can do it, anyone can do it..........
good for him, not so good for anyone else. anything goes these days.

As an AvCanada discussion grows longer:
-the probability of 'entitlement' being mentioned, approaches 1
-one will be accused of using bad airmanship

With the present lockdown and people dying I could end up being the last human on the planet, Maybe it was the coronavirus that killed off the dinosaurs. One thing is for sure" YOUR GOING TO DIE",

Long time lurker here,
Just wondering if having a medical “suspended”, but no timeline is akin to being a permanently cancelled one, or just requires more testing/time.

Re: I'm going to court
Requires more testing/time. A lot of the disqualifying criteria from the past now acceptable with sufficient testing and time. This includes pacemakers, SSRI's, etc.
Re: I'm going to court
Sent in the audiogram reports last week, lets see how long it will take the TC medical doctor to give me back my medical for my pilot licence, Just wondering if he is actually working due to the coronavirus. Or just sitting at home drinking scotch.

Re: I'm going to court
Good luck.... I’ve been waiting nearly 6 months for my medical to be reinstated, with nothing but radio silence.
Re: I'm going to court
Well I'm stuck at home anyway because of the coronavirus, And I haven't heard from the Appeals court, guess they are not working in Ottawa either, Or just waiting for the pandemic to be over to attend to the cases,

Re: I'm going to court
I had my Cat 1 medical done yesterday.Verified my last audiogram was still valid & sent me for an ecg (I’m 61 this year).
Seemed like a no brainer.

Really?
I have been taking "whisper tests" for years and a number of audio-grams as well as two airborne hearing tests "in a plane of my choice with an instructor of my choice" over the years until finally I got hearing aids paid for by Worksafe BC. Why go through all the stress of being argumentive with the regulators when it is in your best interest to know your hearing is meets the standard for safe flight?
Of course, the plane I hired was a C-172 (quiet) and told the instructor to do the flying.
So your argument with TC seems kind of ill conceived in my opinion, and a great waste of time.
And, by the way, the regional TC medical office has always been at the other end of your phone line whenever you need to talk to them. Sometimes you have to leave a message and they phone back after 2 days. (My experience)

Re: I'm going to court
I'll take the fifth on that one, not inclined to end up in a drawn out defamation case......
The point I am making is that if this character can still keep a licence and can't hear squat, well, anybody can.

The way that was written made it seem like you were possibly talking about redlaser, which is why I asked the question.confusedalot wrote: ↑Thu Apr 29, 2021 5:38 pmI'll take the fifth on that one, not inclined to end up in a drawn out defamation case......

Re: I'm going to court
Hearing test results showed a minimal hearing loss but only at high frequencies of 6000 and 8000, Yet TC's medical doctor is sitting on the file, probably at home because of the coronavirus, drinking scotch and getting paid by TC. Apparently other TC employees are doing the same.

Re: I'm going to court
Forgive me, but am I right in thinking that if you’d had the hearing test between September last when it was requested and this March, then your medical wouldn’t have been suspended and there would be no file for TC’s medical doctor to sit on?
DId you hear the one about the jurisprudence fetishist? He got off on a technicality.
Re: I'm going to court
Your absolutely right, but for the TC doctor to request a hearing test when my medical was valid for a year and a half and I was flying reguraly with no issues. Question is, what prompted the TC medical officer to request a audiogram out of the blue, And Btw the appeals board in Ottawa never answered my request for a hearing, I wonder why?

Re: I'm going to court
I don't think it was out of the blue, just what looks like a good delay to process your own medical's files.redlaser wrote: ↑Mon May 03, 2021 8:15 am Your absolutely right, but for the TC doctor to request a hearing test when my medical was valid for a year and a half and I was flying reguraly with no issues.
