Would you or anyone else currently at Encore mind posting a full monthly take home pay? Need to see the actual amounts one would take home including the $850 monthly add on and including any and all deductions. Thank you!goingmissed wrote: ↑Wed Jun 08, 2022 9:51 amIt hasn't changed in a few years. Contract negotiations should begin next year.
75MMG/900 guaranteed hours per year
~2% pay increase per year
~$3.45/hour away from base (pairing start to pairing end) per diem, increasing at 2% per year

So are Encore pilots still treated like second class citizens?

Citizens? They're treated like imported labour.Serious Pilot wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2025 10:57 am So are Encore pilots still treated like second class citizens?
Re: Reasons to NOT choose Encore
I'm quite confused at the current state of WS Encore.
They have a bunch of planes parked due to the "shortage" of pilots. Yet the executives wants to "rebuild encore" so that it can provide better feed capacity to the WB in YYC.
So is it just a bean counter math that it's cheaper to have 30% of the Q fleet parked than hire some DECs and attract them with wage increases/signing bonus/etc ?
With the rate of Boeing deliveries in 2025 you'd think it would be a good idea to use that turboprop lift...

Complex systems won’t survive the competence crisis
Re: Reasons to NOT choose Encore
While I agree completely, the question has to be “how much must you pay to an Encore Captain to keep them from going to AC/Porter (or Flair, or Air Sprint, or…)?daedalusx wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 12:42 pm I'm quite confused at the current state of WS Encore.

Re: Reasons to NOT choose Encore
DEC hiring has been doing alright, the highest since inception apparently. ~24 DECs in the last 3 classes. Killing WJ Link helped with that obviously, as did Lynx's failure. Last I heard we're running 20 tails right now. The pipe dream is to get all 35 running and somehow get annual flying hours up by 2-2.5x with probably 500-550 pilots to feed the WBs.daedalusx wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 12:42 pm I'm quite confused at the current state of WS Encore.

Which until the EC figures out they have to actually incentivize and compensate pilots to stick around, won't happen.

Re: Reasons to NOT choose Encore
So I just wanna clarify this, if a first officer gets hired at Westjet and another direct entry captain at Encore, 10 years later both meet at mainline. Will the DEC be at year 1 pay rate and the one who was hired as a fo at year10?
Re: Reasons to NOT choose Encore
Not only that, but the DEC will be 10 years junior to that FO, anyone hired at mainline over that 10 years will be between them!Serious Pilot wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2025 3:08 pm So I just wanna clarify this, if a first officer gets hired at Westjet and another direct entry captain at Encore, 10 years later both meet at mainline. However, the DEC will more than likely be at AC with 6-8 years seniority under their belt!
