This industry is too small to burn bridges. People may treat you unprofessionally but it is your choice as to how to respond. It doesn't cost anything to take the high road on these sorts of things and may pay off in unexpected ways down the road.

A few years ago I applied for one of the civilian instructor positions at the KFA operation in Portage. An HR lady called me and basically told me I must be stupid applying for this job with my experience in a conversation that was borderline rude. I kept my tone civil and replied that I was indeed serious and thanked her for responding in person. I then followed up with a brief letter asking that my application be withdrawn and thanking them for considering it.

It is unlikely that if I had been rude right back and told them to take their job a shove it would make any difference in the future but you never know.....
He's a troll and I'm responding in kind lol

Did you sleep in? It happens. I've missed at least 7 or 8 in-person interviews because of it. They understand and will definitely reschedule. Sometimes mornings are just for scrolling.
Just bring chicken nuggies and coffee. Beer if you're feeling frosty, that's a king move that'll get them talking, you'll be in GS before you know it.

No I didn’t.

For the other posters out there, I'm definitely aware of the trolling potential in this post. Nonetheless, things like this do happen and life and it can be a bit of a lesson for some of the newer folks out applying for jobs.

Whether it was a valid mistake or one that you should have addressed earlier, you made a mistake that ended up wasting someone's time. Airline hiring folks are really busy at the moment and they set up time in their schedule to have a virtual meeting with you and you didn't show up. The last thing employers want is an employee that will waste time.

So if you do "gone messed up", you have to own it, apologize and explain and then ... hope ... that they decide to give you another shot.

As harsh as it is, and now it'll make me seem old, but 20 years ago you, missing a meeting meant your application went in the trash can. UNLESS, there was an extremely compelling reason (i.e. got in a car accident, sudden family emergency - however, some sort of phone call asap would be necessary). Now, simply because of supply and demand, it may not mean your application is completely trashed, however, if I take your posts at face value, it sounds like you're being pushy and now bad mouthing an employer for something that was your mistake. Not only do employers want employee who won't waste their time, they want employees who will take responsibility for their actions.

I'm not sure how many times you've called or e-mailed, nor do I really care, but in general, one e-mail with an explanation and apology will suffice. After that you're wasting more of their time. So, if you truly want to work at Lynx, stop wasting their time. There literally is nothing more you can do other than hope that you haven't ruined your shot this time around.

They didn’t explain the content until after the missed interview, then I apologize for not understanding and asked for interview rescheduled.

I agree Happyflyer is a troll, but after doing interviews his scenario isn’t that far fetched. The amount of people who can’t show up to an interview at all or on time is wild. Some of the excuses I’ve heard when the interview is rescheduled are both mild boggling and entertaining. It seems the vast majority of experienced, good candidates are happy with their job. Most people looking for work now are low time or the guy you went to flight school with that you wouldn’t hire to mow your grass.

You’re saying I’m the only experienced King Air Captain interested in moving to 705 ops at the moment? I actually belong to a group in my community that volunteers to cut grass and clear snow for disabled and elderly members of the community. I definitely not if your “most people” category.

It would be better if you guys cleaned their gutters instead. This was you can still help your neighbours while allowing kids to earn some spending cash and learning some responsibilities.

Maybe they saw these volunteering activities on your resume and thats why they didn't call you? I know I wouldn't interview someone that not only takes a 12 years old's job, but does it for free!

I talk to them all the time. I'm giving you free resume advice but you don't seem interested. I'm starting to think you may be waiting a little longer for that rescheduling call.

I interviewed a month ago but still have not heard back yet, anything that I should be concerned about?

Anything is possible, time management is weak it seems there, I asked to reschedule interview and they don’t have a minute to reply.
I’d try Porter if you meet the requirements, they provide offer insanely quick after interview.

2500+ which included close to 1500 hours pic across king airs and q400s with experience around North America and arctic.

Wj currently not hiring. And screw going to AC because "it's ac and I can be one of a million commuters for a crappy reserve schedule".

The quick gain in seniority and quick possible upgrades were tempting. Instead I'll sit out where I currently am and wait for my start date south of the border.
