Looking for staff is not base specific. As it stands now, there is not much flying out of YYC so a lot of the pairings will start and end with a DH. YYC is typically the "entry portal" along with YVR for Q new hire classes. Vacancies created in YYC end up being back filled by the new hire cohort. There are also a number of FO's that "commute" from YYZ to YYC as they are senior enough on the YYC roster to hold the DH pairings that take them to YYZ.

so I'm new to deadheading etc. so I'll have to do my own research. I'd like to remain in the west (YYC specifically) but if I'm understanding what you're saying is it's more of a base that is used to move people to either YVR or YYC.
