So....um....so dare I ask,

How much do Zoom guys get paid, what is the schedule like?

Please no hijacking.

Can someone please pm me or post what it may be like to work at Zoom?

From what I have heard. (Keep in mind this is what I have heard)
Schedule is 85hrs allthough you usually do not work your full 85 except for the busy months.
Starting pay in the mid 50's.
Top captain pay aroung 150ish.

Is being a pilot a job or a passion to you guys? It seems like the thrill of flying has escaped you a little bit.

I am in the process of becoming a pilot and nothing excites me more than the anticipation of one day sitting in the cockpit of a boeing or an airbus or any other major commercial plane as a pilot of that plane. I realize that it is tough to be doing the same job you did 10 years ago for less money, but did you really get in to the job for the money? I think if you took a step back and really took a good look at what you do, you will rekindle that love affair. How about the next time you pull into a gate and you notice all the people stareing out the window at you or even the ground handlers about to plug in the ground power (like me). You guys really do have the coolest job in the world and if you went to work everyday with that mentality, everyday would probably be better than the last.

I hope I don't come off as preaching, but I think it's easier to realize where you are with an outsiders opinion.

I don't think that there are to many people who post on this site that will disagree with you. Flying is one of the best jobs in the world. Just ask anyone here who has been in the airline industry for any length of time if they would enjoy a nine to fiver. My guess is that not too many would. However that being said. Just because what you do for a living is cool doesn't mean you have to take it in the ass at every turn. Canadian duty times are some of the worst in the world. We are by global standards overworked and underpaid. But we are our own enemy. For every one Canuck pilot who says NO to working for nothing, there are dozens who say YEAH I'll do it for nothing because I JUST WANNA FLY MAN. I applaud your passion ,we were all there and for the most part still are. I think though if you really want to keep that passion. Do something else for a living that pays great and buy an airplane. Correction, rent one. Because if it FLYS FUCKS OR FLOATS.....RENT IT. It's way cheaper

I will be the first to defend my love of flying and its still my passion but just because it kicks ass doesn't mean I should do it for free or next to it. I don't want to turn this into a proffessional pay issue like the doctor deal and the whole 250 lives in your hands (to read "Autopilot FMS's Hands").

Who cares if people whine about how much they make, you want to become a pilot cause it is the best job in the world according to you and that's all that matters, just don't sell your soul and screw everyone else in the process.
