Mapledell, do I understand the above statement to mean that you are denying that the top level of Transport Canada has a systemic problem with corrupt officials in positions of power?" understand your point gli77 but you don't understand that the people you are responding to do not have the "substance" to post.
You're giving them far too much credit. "
Starting with Merlin Preuss who has been documented as supporting dishonesty and law breaking at the highest levels of TCCA.
I would truly be interested in your thoughts regarding this subject.
The question you should be addressing is what would you do if you were their next victim.

mapledell
I just got through telling anyone who cares to read that I have positive proof of lies from the top.
Do you seriously think I am going to publish it here?
Lies, ignorance, incompetence, racial and sexual slurs, obstruction, bullying, dissemination of confidential personal information, extortion, extreme breaking of the CARS, totally disregard for the Civil Service Code of Ethics, vindictive and threatening behaviour. (and more...)
Oh, that is just ONE inspector!!!!!
Documented and proven but disregarded by Preuss himself. Responded to after pressure by total lies. I have to say you have to be extremely arrogant in the secure notion to hide behind Crown lawyers, or totally stupid to sign your name to such a document.
What do you think?

I find it astounding that there is no end of people who jump in on these discussions of corruption within the top levels of TCCA and try and whitewash the fact that TC is at about the same level of integrity as many African countries such as Zimbawbe.
So I feel safe in stating that in my experience with Merlin Preuss over a prolonged period of time his moral degeneracy is only exceeded by his arrogance.
With Preuss at the top we are no better off than if we have Robert Mugabe, actually I would prefer Mugabe because he can probably be bought for less money than Preuss....maybe....
And I have exactly the same documentation including a signed letter from Merlin Preuss stating unequivically that he supports dishonesty within the top levels of TCCA management." " I was refering that gli77 has been asking over and over for a thread of the ongoing tribunals and all you whiners can do is keep on whining. Surely if you are such experts and so involved you can provide what the current status is. "
So in your eyes we are whiners huh mapledell?
It sure is interesting knowing there are people like you out there who have such a could care less attitude about others in aviation.
I can just imagine how happy you would be if you ever were unlucky enough to get screwed over by Preuss and some of the thugs who work under him.

The problem with trolls is as long as their IQ is high enough to read and write and type on a keyboard we have to suffer their ignorance in these discussions.
I would love to be able to meet some of these trolls face to face and see just how much they really know about how aviation works behind the scenes in Canada." Cat there are a couple of trolls in this thread, don't bite. "

widow, a lot of these posters are not capable of understanding the subject so it is futile to even try and explain it to them.
I'm kind of changing my mind about aviation, seems it is now over run with victims of fetal alcohol syndrome and excessive drug use by their hippy parents from the flower child years.
Not good news for the travelling public though.

Cat Driver I certainly hope you are not refering to me?
I believe I made my points as best as I could. I am quite interested in what is happening, just not interested in your take over and over(I hope you take that lightly). I would like to know the current status of what is going on in Ottawa I just dont want to read all the crap to get to the info. I suspect that may apply to quite a few.
Sorry Widow I did not see you post. I will take a look now though.

You seem to be aware that there is a very serious problem in TCCA." Cat Driver I certainly hope you are not refering to me? "
And I would venture that if you had been put through the grinder by Preuss and a few of his ilk that several of us here have you would be just as passionate in your desire to rid aviation of these thugs.

Nope not to your extent Cat Driver. But I am a very strong proponent of checks and balances and would like to see the Auditor General get this all sorted. It is this sole office and power that does make the western form of government viable. I would also like to see the interests of the industry heard.
Perhaps it would be best if the DGCA is a time limited position, and all positons like it.

This thread lost any chance of productivity once the the name calling started.gli77 wrote:Well I see this worked out nicely. Carry on then.
Sarcastic? You bet I am, it is one way to keep my sanity after 3 1/2 decades in an industry which which is spiraling down rapidly, making the same mistakes over and over again. If I offended you with my sarcasm, I apologize.
Stupid and ignorant? That I am not. It is time for all of us take our heads out of the sand, and accept resposibility for our actions in this industry. We cannot expect someone or some goverment agency to do it for us. There is a recent thread, asking what we would do differently if there were no CARs. As a responsible human being, I would do nothing differently to provide safe air transportation.
But once I started to sign the checks, I realized there is little or no protection, for me as an operator, against a vindictive TC Inspector. And believe me they are out there, the same as any petty person in any industry.
So have a care sir, walk a block or two in Widows or Cats shoes. Both of them, have good reason to be discouraged by the attitude of TC, which comes from the top down, as you well know. As for me? I have seen too many needless deaths in this industry to remain mute.

There is only one way to clean out the cess pool that is Tower C in Ottawa and that is to find a way to force the elected members in parliament to clean house." Nope not to your extent Cat Driver. That will only happen when and if public opinion forces these elected officials to do what they were elected to do, ensure the rule of law and the right of every Canadian citizen to due process from the bureaucrats such as Preuss.
TCCA and their masters in Transport Canada at the level of Director General Transport Canada is a closed loop group that are like Musk Oxen , when they smell danger they form a circle to protect the herd.
Some years ago I accepted the word of the top bureaucrat in Transport Canada the Director General that he would order an independent investigation of my issues with Preuss and Nowzek with regard to my company.
He came to my home to show his dedication to solving the problems I had with Preuss....the whole year long process was a complete farce and in the end it only cost me more loss of assets and grief in dealing with them.
When I look at the seat the Director General sat in for hours in my home I feel a sense of revulsion to have allowed that level of human scum into my home.
I am no longer a part of aviation in Canada so in some ways it no longer concerns me directly, but I would still be interested in seeing if the fix is in right to the elected officials such as the Minister of Transport and Stephen Harper.
Quite frankly I suspect it is.

Was it not Art Laflambe when you had your issues with them? Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Merlin fairly new at this gig?

Marktheone, what exactly are you trying to achieve with a question like that." .,
Was it not Art Laflambe when you had your issues with them? Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Merlin fairly new at this gig? "
Are you suggesting that I do not understand who I was dealing with and what the individuals I was dealing with did?
I get the distinct feeling that far to many people in aviation are of the opinion that I and many others in Canadian aviation are deserving of being screwed over by those in power in Ottawa because we refused to be bullied by TCCA.
To answer your question, Art LaFlamme was DGCA when my problems with Dave Nowzek and Dick Murray first started.
Art LaFlamme ordered the meeting between myself and my lawyer and Nowzek and three other TC managers.
Art LaFlamme wrote me a letter stating that he supported the actions of Nowzek and Murray.
Merlin Preuss took over Art's position just prior to the Director General's office taking over my file. The Director General told me and my wife that if my allegations of wrongdoing by TCCA were proven to be true he would see to it that all my losses would be reinbursed....he reneged about a year later when the rulings were in my favor, to this day I have not seen one penny.
Merlin Preuss was the DGCA during the months the investigation was carried out.
Merlin Preuss was DGCA when the ruling was made in my favor on all counts that I was denied due process and Nowzek, Murray and a few others had acted diliberately and with malice and illegally in the bankrupting of my company to protect one of their own.
Pruess to this day stands by the letter he wrote me stating that he still supports Nowzek and Murray and they have his full backing.
I am so God Damned happy I am no longer involved in aviation in Canada you wouldn't believe it.
What bothers me is how so many of what used to be my so called colleagues seem to be unable to grasp the fact that Preuss, Nowzek and their ilk are unfit for the offices they hold.
Maybe I will be around long enough to quizz you on who did what, when, to you someday after they stick it to you.
