NO!
Birddog! You.... you.... you...... UGH!
You fry me.... you kill me.... you crack me up, you @#$! me up!
Straight now... no crap... WHO are you? (remember, STRAIGHT!)
Sulako... Keep up with the tellin' stories. Of course it helps. And it's worth doing...
Pimper... gimme a break, the local paper probably ran the story with the guy's name in it. Sulako has done nothing to breach any privacy conventions or rules... I, and the vast majority of readers haven't a clue how to put an identity to the poor sod subject of his initial story here.
I think maybe your jock strap is just a bit too tight.

Not to sound exceedingly geeky here, but 127.0.0.1 is a loop back address a computer uses to talk to itself. They somehow ended up as the recorded IPs (maybe has to do with cable modem or router setup) for these individuals, thus showing Carl and RRN together.endless wrote:127.0.0.1

Carl [ 6 Posts ]

So they're most likely not the same, and could be half-way around the world from each other with little or no way for the moderators to tell.
Endless is right on the same IP adresses being assigned to different computers in an area at different times.

Stick around 'angel face' we got more for ya!I'd_Rather_Be_Flying wrote:WOW......that has to be the best and longest load of crap thread i have ever read! What was the topic again??????? who knows. but i was definatly laughing a couple times at the back and forth slapping. THE INTERNET SURE DOES BRING OUT THE BEST IN PEOPLE!

I can see cutting one hand off with a chain saw, but how did he manage to sever the other one? Hold the chain saw with his teeth. Having said that, I as well find this thread totally lacking in taste and compassion. Usually Sulako's posts are interesting to read. However I understand this to be my opinion only. Those that enjoy conversing about this type of thing carry on, those that don't, steer clear.

How do you cut off both hands with a chainsaw... as my mom used to say, where there's a will there's a way!
Now, as for compassion and sensitivity; Both can get rapidly depleted when you deal with stupid or otherwise defective people. Another way to look at is this; "For those who think; life is a comedy. For those who feel; life is a tragedy".

I don't find a lot of humour in mental illnesses such as depression. I have attended many suicide attempts and successes over the years. It really is sad, especially the young ones. A very close friend of mine lost her 16 year old son to suicide. Nicest, kindest, most addoring family you could ever meet. What catastrophy must have happened in that young mans life to lead to suicide is a mystery that has blown that family apart.

If a medevac pilot ever saved my life I really don't think that I could be mad at him/her for anything ever. In my opinion it is far better to have the medevac pilots share stories in order to maintain their sanity than for them to burn out in silence, leaving us without pilots willing to do such a shitty job.
Sulako deserves more respect for being willing to do such a difficult but vital job.

Actually flying medevac is not a shitty job at all... IMO, it's much better then flying a 703/704 sked service. Once you get over being called out at anytime day or night, it's quite enjoyable... much more autonomy then flying sked and a great team environment working with the medical crew.Launchpad wrote:If a medevac pilot ever saved my life I really don't think that I could be mad at him/her for anything ever. When it comes to pressure... medevac is much less stressful then sked because we don't have to worry about staying on time running our butts off like sked crews do.
Emotionally trying, shitty, whatever. I flew medevacs for years, easiest work I ever did. Only crappy part was the middle of the night phone call, big deal, beats moving drill in a whiteout in an otter. Didn't fly much, nice equipment, lots of time off, all in all a sweet gig.

pimper,
i can understand your concern for the paitents confidenciality...i really do as i have worked in sevral homes and medical facilities, however i also have had someone very close to me saved by a medavac flight. I am very glad to see pilots communicating with each other on this topic, knowing this I truly believe that some of the complications that took place on this perticular flight will be reduced and that another family will not have to go through the pain of not knowing what is happening in the air.
I am not red I am a relative of his, and I seriously hope that you are going to stop being such a di$k to these guys, they may have story that some day will help them save another person.
(no harm, no foul)
