I think the point that Stan was making was that Voyager doen't pay 65000/yr unless you are extremely experienced. If you apply at Thunder with the same qualifications you can start at the 3rd yr pay scale which I believe was $70,000 PLUS another 5,000 for staying.flight instructor wrote:Stan: it was to humour BCflyer.

Sorry I don' t understand your point. Are you saying that they don' t need to pay you the proper wage because you are located at Thunder bay or Timmins?
I am saying that your wage will depend on where you live. This isn't something that is exclusive to aviation. It happens in alot of industries.
Do you mean that when it comes to aviation, the best pay are upnorth, and in the international airports the pay is the lowest?
At the level of operators we are talking about here. Yes that is correct
The fact of the matter is that if they don't offer that kind of money, nobody would take the job. Believe me they aren't paying more out of the goodness of their hearts, they pay more because they have to.Sakism found for you a company that is ABLE to pay $ 65,000 on base plus mileage system as soon as you are hired, why an other similar company is NOT ABLE and only pay you half?
Do they keep the money for themself....? Where are the 35000$? Ah yes I forgot you don' t need those 35000$ since Timmins is the center of univers, and you don' t need money to live in the center of universe.

Yes that' s right.I think the point that Stan was making was that Voyager doen't pay 65000/yr unless you are extremely experienced. If you apply at Thunder with the same qualifications you can start at the 3rd yr pay scale which I believe was $70,000 PLUS another 5,000 for staying.
30000$ seems to be brutal. But a friend told me that you may earn 50000-55000 the first year and 55-65000 the second year with all the perks.
The first year seems to be rude, but if you stick around some time, well, that' s not too bad.
you do realize that 30,000 + 36,000 = $66,000 per year. (thousand more than your magical 65,000 you are looking for) and there is NO way you are going to get 1200 hours in a year instructing. Even at the mythical 1200 hours a year instructing at 25 an hour that is another 30,000 on top of your 20,000 base, which makes it 50, 000 so its 16,000 more for a turbine job. How is that math difficult?flight instructor wrote:After having done the math:50 hours on the MU-2 in two weeks:
$2700
50 hours on the 172 in two weeks:
$2020
50 hours on the MU2 (30000 base +36000 (50 hours within 2 weeks: 1200 hours a year) mileage according to JEREMY):
1900$ 2 weeks after tax.
50 hours on the C172 (20000 base+25$ an hour):
2000$ 2 weeks after tax.
You are more paid flying CCTS with the C172 than beeing a multi turbine captain flying medevac.
This is a fact.
