Haha, of course CAT...a piece of paper definately makes flying boats on the side of an airplane safer! How could we not see this before?
I don't know but thankfully my ignorance of the subject must be what allowed me to have survived all those trips.

Same thing with that video they cobbled up called " When in doubt "

It is beyond my ability to properly express the feelings of fear and relief I felt the first time I watched that video, up to that point in time I had no idea that flying with frost, ice, snow or any other contaminating stuff on the wings and the rest of the airplane would make any difference in how the thing flew how I had survived up to that time in my career is beyond me.

The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no

After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.

I'm no expert, but the folks here that showed me how to fly sure knew a lot about tying stuff onto airplanes! They approached every load with caution, and they fully understood the added risks involved. If the weather wasn't good there was no way your boat was getting flown in. A cautious, experienced approach with a good company culture is the way to go if you ask me.

Flying airplanes is easy, you just need to PAY ATTENTION. Finding a good job on the other hand takes experience, practice, and some serious talent.

I got all you guys beat!! I flew the truck in to fill the tanks! On a beaver to boot. Didn't have to worry about running out of fuel.

Canadian SKIES magazine just did an article on external loads, it doesn't talk about approving fuel trucks as external loads... but it's a current summary of some external loads practices.

Number crunching - Obtaining approval for external floatplane loads is a real balancing act.

No

One of the partners and his dad sunk the ship. I can't think of 2 people I dislike or have less respect for in my life!
