I feel for all the pilots out there that are out there. No doubt it is tough. However, about this whole LeBlanc is the devil type thing: he's like the wallet inspector in that Simpsons episode. LeBlanc is a crook, and people should have learned this after the Royal/C3 episode, but there has to be some commons sense on the part of us pilots. It's like leaving your BMW unlocked in Harlem-it's going to be gone when you get back. If you're going to fork over money, make sure it's in a secured trust account. These pilots were simply unsecured creditors in a company with no credit rating.
Sorry, but why would you fork out that much money for a pay cut, just to fly a jet for a couple months??

Sorry no sympathy from this end. Go ahead slag me to death, but everyone one of you who stepped up with $30k got what you deserved. Congrats you managed to set aviation back about 30 years! Employees at McDonalds, Paper Mills, Bell Canada don't pay for their training so why would you.
As far a ML goes, I hope that slimey bast**d gets strung up in the town square. Every Jetgo employee had better remember who you should be mad at, not me or anyone else who had no love for your airline but rather the guy who took your 30K, as late as a couple of weeks ago was touting the big expansion into the west and was selling seats for a dollar while oil hovered at $56 per barrel.
Good luck to all of you! Has any of learned anything from this!! I didn't think so!!

I hope in the winter months, as a part time job, you don’t work at the suicide prevention hotline!!!!!
“Ya buddy your life sucks and I told you the last time that your life sucks so why are you calling me again??”
I know over half a dozen pilots who went there and to a man they are all A1 folks. All of them knew that this place was going to go at some time, but wanted to get the jet time so they could be hired by companies like Skyservice etc who don’t seem to hire anyone without jet time. So they took one heck of a gamble and lost. And instead of sympathies from you and your ilk for having lost, you sit back and smugly say, “I told you so, didn’t I?”. I feel you may want to work on your compassion for you fellow pilot a little bit, because as someone posted somewhere else on this forum, Karma is a bitch.

CL guy, well said.
It's funny the back pedalling now.
RFN "Hopefully some of the companies that these guys left will be able to give them their jobs back; remember, these guys were your senior drivers who knew what they were doing."
So what, they quit for bigger and better(?) would you give up your seat for one of these guys, give your head a shake.
Pimper? hello Pimper? Looking for Pimper.
Hats off to IABD for fighting the good fight.

I do have sympathy for everyone at JG. Hopefully this will be a productive lesson about buying bonds. For anyone who has some thoughts about what CAAP should do (other than "something") please take the time to post your suggestions and help out if able.

That being the case then, I guess they aren't upset at all since they knew it was going to fail. 30K to buy some time so you can get hired somewhere else. Not sure I can follow the logic!!All of them knew that this place was going to go at some time, but wanted to get the jet time so they could be hired by companies like Skyservice

My best wishes to all those from Jetsgo, Hopefully the need for Pilots in our industry will increase and we will not see you out of work for Long.
Perhaps this will lead to good or better things for all of you. I'm sure that you will all be employed again very soon.
Best Wishes

We're finally on Welfare...C'mon kids help me scatter Car Parts on the Front Lawn..
Jetsgo
Also just want to add my condolences to all the guys/gals who lost there jobs. Not only to all the pilots but also the many other people. No one deserves this. Its absolute crap that no one was given notice. No one can tell me that management didn't see this coming. I heard the aircrews flying at the time only heard after they landed. ML should be taken to court and raked over the coals. He should not be able to profit from this and his own net worth should be used as compensation for his lack of compassion to his employees.
Sometimes I wonder if we as pilots forget this is just a job...

A lot of you are trashing the industry, "what an industry, what a business we're in, the industry is in decline, etc, etc". I happen to like the aviation industry. You should have known aviation has its ups and downs when you started. All of the decline in aviation comes DIRECTLY from the pilots. If you don't like the industry, find another job and make way for someone who will actually enjoy their chosen occupation and its associated industry.

Hang on a second here.
All you guys feeling sorry for those who are out 30K is touching, but let's not lose sight of the fact that it's these people who buy PPC's on Navajo's, King Air's and Metro's. The price may be a bit higher, but it's the same degrading, de-valueing process that is repeated many times each week in this country through the purchase of endorsements.
If they were willing to take the obvious risk for career advancement, then they should have been smart enough to live very frugally and prepare for this day. But, as is our nature, I'm sure many pruchsed new homes and cars etc on the strength of their new jobs - lesson for everyone else here to learn.
It's going to be interesting to see who re-hires these guys, but on second thought, they're probably just the ones you want if you're an employer, you can probably start charging for coffee in the crew room.

The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no
After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.
After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.
Looking back on the whole Jetsgo history from an outsider perspective on this industry I have to wonder why any one of you pilots would pay for the previledge of becoming an employee of any company. Maybe this is just my trade union way of thinking, but you can't start a airline without pilots. They should be worshipping the ground that you fly boys walk on and doing everything possible to entice you over to fly for them.
I guess if I relate this situation to my career I can draw a parity in that we do now have to pay for advanced training and that will give us higher pay but their is very little risk to us as a national shortage of paramedics makes it worthwhile to take the chance. For these pilots it was just bad timing right now.
I feel very sorry for those guys/gals who took a chance on furthering their career at considerable cost to them. It's very easy to sit back now and say "I told you so" but remember that these men and women are your peers, try and be respectful to their situation. I'm sure that they have enough stress in their lives at this time.

Whether or not people should pay for a Type rating or not is a moot point for Jetsgo pilots. They did pay and are now pretty badly hooped. But don't you think the Jetsgo guys are kicking themselves in the ass enough ass it is? Why people here feel the need to kick all of the pilots while they are down? These people just had their f'ing hearts cut out. If you got canned from a job you wouldn't want people rubbing your face in it so show these people a little respect and BACK THE F*** OFF!

Maybe........just maybe...........people will finally think twice before paying for an endorsement. I am sorry to hear that JG is gone but I have not one bit of sympathy.
Michel is an icon, there is a picture of him in the dictionary next to the word crook. Always has been, always will be. The guy would steal from his own brother, infact he has.
There is absolutely no valid argument for paying an airline for a job. Sure a contract is one thing, but anyone who wants cash up front is a crook. I have always said this.
We have all bitched about JG at one time or another on this site. The $30K has been a huge source of thread after thread. We have all condemed it at one time or another.
So please...........hopefully with this incident, people will learn! It is a very expensive lesson. When ML starts up again, and he will and when he screws up again, and he will, I don't want to hear any sympathy for more pilots out money. Michel Leblanc only exists because naive pilots play into his slimy scam.
Jetsgo has only furthur diminished our industry. Both for the consumer and the employee.

Standby for new atis message
cantankerous pilot- wow, first post, full of shit.
You must be a 200 hr flight instructor class 4 only in the industry of 1 month.
You like the way the industry is, tell you what than, if you like the fact that people pay for PPC's to fly, come my way I'll set you up in a HO and make you pay 10K for the PPC, and a month later say piss off I don't need you and your not gettin your money back. Than say the industry isn't crooked,
I've been flying for only 4 years and yes your right up and downs, but I want you to say that same bullshit statement when you get a little more experience.
