I guess I'd rather miss out on all of that fun than miss my kids growing up, being home at night. Being able to make plans more than 2 days in advance is also a nice luxury, not to mention having good health benefits for my family and a decent pension package. These are all things that make up the good life in my opinion. Finding that job in aviation is like finding a needle in a haystack. I will surely miss flying, but I surely won't miss having to be away during birthdays, school plays, family functions, weddings, friends... etc. Going to bed with my wife everynight and having a social life is nice for a change. So I guess back to the original question.... no money would bring me to a reserve

To each his own. Those jobs are out there though. Speaking of school plays I am on my way to a Christmas concert in 20 min.

I just get a kick out of the two flying job mindsets. People who fly for a living love it, and people who don't think the job sucks. It's just a job, probably a little more exciting than some others, a better view from the office window anyhow.

The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no

After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.
