First time I saw one of these was at Mojave parked in the long term storage back
around 1995 - I had no idea what it was - thought it was a military jet all covered?

You'd have some stiff competition. http://www.mojaveairport.com/voyager.htm The peanut butter burger (forget its real name) is pretty darn good.

Curious - how did this Tutor end up in private ownership in the first place??
Are there any other Canadian Armed Forces Tutors in private ownership???
Somewhere in the back of my memory, I recall the CAF trading a Tutor to an American in exchange for his flyable ex-RCAF DH Vampire. That Vampire was apparently in storage somewhere in Comox.
Clear skies and calm winds...

Thanks for that info - just did some checking.
Seems Bill Lamberton traded his Vampire Click Here for the Tutor. Just reading a bit about him, seems he may have actually been a RCAF Vampire pilot.
Seems the Tutor was owned by the Federal Govt. - and on loan to the Museum - a clause in the deal - the aircraft can be painted in any colour scheme the owner wants - except Snowbird colours.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Not sure - seems the Tutor auctioned off - was owned by Harold Carlaw's son - Harold passed away not too long ago - and owned and operated the Memorial Military Museum in Campbellford, Ontario.
Found some info on a warbird blog that stated Harold Carlaw's son had purchased 9 Tutors a couple of years ago - and had planned on painting them all as Snowbirds for re-sale as static displays??? According to DoD - all the Tutors are to be for static display only, and are all sold without engines.

Sorry I just have hotdogs, potato chips and bottled soda in the cooler on ice. They're cheap and Kosher. If you want fancy then you can go to the voyager. Keep the line moving please sir, there's customers behind you.Pratt X 3 wrote:You'd have some stiff competition. http://www.mojaveairport.com/voyager.htm The peanut butter burger (forget its real name) is pretty darn good.
