Hate to break it to you but he's not incorrect on all counts. Contrary to what Swede stated the aircraft did not spend the night outside the hangar only to be discovered late the next day. It arrived early Saturday morning and sat outside for about 6 hours before the next crew arrived to pick it up and discovered what had happened. That being said, I highly doubt the pilot forgot to set the brake not to mention walked away from an airplane with control locks in, prop ties on but the door open? That just doesn't make much sense. But neither does someone else screwing around with the airplane. As was said earlier, there's not much activity at that end of the airport on a Saturday period, not just with CMA. Like most accidents, I'm sure there was a chain of things that occured over those 6 hours and as a result, I don't think we'll ever know exactly how the accident happened. The thing that I find funny is that while the company seems to have adopted a "c'est la vie" attitude and moved on, there are people on here determined to have a witch-hunt and assign blame on a specific person whether it be CMA rampie, engineer or pilot. This thread started talking about the impact the Dornier might have on CMA and other operators in Alberta and BC and has somehow turned into the Spanish Inquisition. If the people that had to foot the bill can move on, why can't the people here?swede said: Flyboing - Yeah, smithereens will back you up - you hope, you are incorrect on all counts
I agree with gonnabe, the point i have been trying to make is; at this time, nobody can hang the blame on any employee of cma because no one(that we know of, or is coming forward) saw exactly what took place. Certain individuals on this forum seem to think they are some sort of all seeing eye and i find it quite offensive. I also agree that it is time to move off of this subject.
I'm givin er all she's got..
