Tailgunner:

Read my signature carefully.

Well done.

P.S. the AIP is an INFORMATION PUBLICATION. It is to be used as a reference for general guidelines. It DOES NOT supercede the CARs.

P.S. The AIP doesn't even exist any more. Look for an on-line AIM at some point. God only knows what it will say, or who will really care.

Tailgunner quietly picks up his hat in one hand.....He keeps his head lowered and shuffles his feet towards the door.... He mutters to himself....Damn those CARS , Damn those CARS, .....He clears his throat as he Apologizes for calling those pilots Retards.....Retards have a much brighter future and more friends and he feels bad for lumping them together with a bunch of pilots.!!!!

Pachanga quickly slips in front of 'tailgunner's' way. He stops him from getting away. With one hand he holds his collar while the other begins a series of sequential backhands across the face as he rythmyically states..."Don't you EVER(slap).....EVER(slap)......EVER(slap).....EVER(slap)......do that again!"

Tailgunner wipes off the snot from the side of his face, grabbing a tooth off the floor He jams it back into his gaping ma...theres only 14 of these left I gotta keep track of them. Looking at his bow legged girl he says " Ma git tha mule hitched up were makin tracks!" And off He shuffles. I'll be back to fix yer wagon he says!

I agree that instructors do have alot of responsibility, however I do not think that Fo's do nothing. There is a reason we have Co pilots and they have responsiblities. They know how to fly that aircraft and have to learn if they want to make captain. I think instructor time and Fo time should be equally valuable when it comes to Atpl's.

Now there's an interesting idea ... how about changing the rules so that a maximum of 500 hours of either instructor or co-pilot time could be applied towards the 1500 ATPL?

The other 1000 hours would have to be real PIC time, such as sole occupant, cross-country, etc.

Giving someone an ATPL because they've watched someone else fly an airplane, makes about as much sense as accrediting someone as a gynocologist because they watch a lot of porn!

I'm sure this idea is gonna float about as well as a lead balloon!

Dual Hours

Post by calgarypilot »

I know that when I recieved my ATPL I was only allowed to use 1/2 my F/O time but 100% of my dual instruction time I recieved in flight scholl. Never really started to learn about real world flying till I got to sit in that right seat. I'm not sure how TC came up with the rule, but I know that it's not changing anytime soon. Just keep pounding away at it and learn as much as you can. ATP's don't really come into play until 12,566.
