CF-18 Hornets going to Europe for NATO

Canada is not a war country and we should not get involved into USA coorporate and political agenda.

This is the most absurd thing I have read yet. On the contrary, NATO should be getting bigger. Ukraine was trying to become a member of NATO. All the more reason we should support them. I have said it for years we cannot trust Russia, nor China for that matter. This invasion just proved my argument. With the stunt Russia just pulled, and China running out of room and resources, and Kim Jong Il and his small penis syndrome, you can bet a dollar to doughnuts these countries will be rattling sabres way louder in the very near future.

Pfff China wont invade anywhere, Russians just need seat strategicaly their position looks like with the black sea.
China is already doing the colonization of African ressources giving back more corruption, couple hospitals and schools in return. For developped countries like Canada you just have to pay Harper's Election and finance his anti abortion program and you can get Canadian resources for peanuts with little return to Canadian, no needs to invade.

All of this countries have nuclear power so no conflits will happen.

And why shouldn't Canada take a major role in this mission? It is when Canada was wearing the blue beret in the 70's and 80's that we took on the stereotype of the petty, laughable, piss poor military and can't fight our way out of a paper bag persona. Now that we have taken on major combat roles and stood out as exemplary adversaries since the Korean War because of our leadership in Harper some of you think we should continue to shuck and hide behind the blue banner of the UN.

Should we not do the same if it was Japan or Australia, or the Phillipines? They are not members of NATO but they are allies and friends none the less. My HO is to send more troops, more planes and ships to Ukraine. Am I a war monger? No, I am not, and I would hate to see any of our fine members of our CF be killed or injured over this conquest by the Russians. Canada needs to take a stance against bullies and why let the UK and US always have to be put into this position time and time again? It always seems that if it is not in my backyard why should it matter. Well when the day comes that it is in our backyard, I sure as heck hope and pray we have others willing to lay down their lives for our homeland.

Oh, and yes if push came to shove I would go help and fight and die if I could.

Know what, we canadian army are just a bunch of hippies, over 2/3 35 y. Old and less do no believe anymore in war. There are no needs of conflicts with weapons anymore. I know a couple choppers pilots in the 80s who would just rumaway the army if they would have to go war.

Or is it more palatable to you for Canadians to die under the U.N. banner during peacekeeping operations?
