Just wondering if anyone can clear this up...I've heard that pilot wise, Canjet is almost to the bottom of the list and that they may have to start hiring again. If this is true, what kind of experience are they going to need? Will they still want the 5000 TT? Will that bond still exist as well?? Is there enough work to keep the company going?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You start with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience before you empty the bag of luck.

The recall is complete, still there's a couple that may be coming back from overseas contracts. Hiring is imminent within the next couple of months, maybe less. The official-unofficial announcement came out for secured contracts this summer and next winter. Official that there's work for 4 aircraft out of YYZ and YUL and Unofficial for work out of YQB and YHZ. As for the details for requirements and training bonds, you could expect the same, but who knows right now.

Since October the rant here has been this thing would never go or get beyond the spring............, well its still here, the airline seems to be doing well, other than some bad luck mechanical delays, they have work agreements and schedules for all the aircraft this summer and next winter and possibly a small expansion. The company is in talks with both unions and there appears to be a future here after all.
There is an active search for additional and/or replacement aircraft. But none of the detractors on this site have shown they are willing to recognise or acknowlege any of the positive stuff. The picture they present is inaccurate. Hard to pay attention to this stuff without balanced views.
Admittedly, the next challenge will be to attract additional crews for expansion and exits, so the company will need to address that however I remain hopeful that the execs will compete as necessary for scarce resources when required.

On a recent return trip from the Dominican Republic, our flight home to Halifax was diverted to Quebec City due to freezing rain. Our pilot made the last-minute decision with our best interests in mind that landing in Halifax was not the safest option.
This was not a surprise. What did surprise me, was the high level of customer service provided to everyone on the plane. CanJet made sure everyone had a room, transportation to and from the hotel, arranged our meals and all at no cost to us.
This level of customer service is sadly missed. Kudos to CanJet for remembering what is important, the customer. I only wish that CanJet still had scheduled flights.
I would like to extend a sincere thanks to the flight crew and to CanJet for taking such good care of us.
CanJet is alive and well.
Still staying

Well..... I’m delighted. When I plan to sun my wrinkled arse on the beaches of Florida or where ever the mode of transportation will be either Air Canada or WestJet… full stop. The Jetsgo/Canjet/ Canada 3000 “surprise, we ain’t here” still resonates

Don't put CanJet in the same tune as C3 and Jetsgo. That was a bankruptcy and passengers were left stranded. Everytime KR shutdown an airline he made sure the bills were paid and the passengers weren't left stranded. Old Fella, you shouldn't worry about be stranded if you're flying on CanJet, if KR knows anything, he knows how to shut an airline down.

I find it funny when people take time out of their day to post this...why did you open the thread then?? it's not like you have to look at this thread before you can go through the rest of the website.Ali G wrote:can you please lock this thread....it has gone on for far too long.
good luck with your "locking" of threads campaign...geez..

Spoon, I'm just trying to keep a neutral stand while everybody else on this thread is just keep flapin' their lips about nothing. I felt the burn from KR and will never trust him again, not that I did in the first place, but I hate all of these "scenarios" and "examples" as to why people shouldn't fly on CanJet. The only reason being is that I hope the guys who simply cannot leave for various personal reasons can make a go of it towards retirement. I respect all the pilots here at CanJet, and I wish the best for them. BTW, the example you refer to is a poor one. This is a charter airline now, and people shouldn't worry about being stranded if KR decides to slam the door again. Worse case scenario, they'll be rescued one way or another. Prime example of that just happened this week, when a tour company in Quebec went bankrupt, yet all passengers were picked up. Besides, it has to do more with tour company as opposed to "chartered" airline. Just because the intinerary says CanJet doesn't mean there's a high degree of risk involved. KR has too many government contracts in IMP to risk by saving a few bucks and grounding the fleet, that's why he hasn't pulled a Michel LeBlanc ever.
Simply put, I don't like IMP or KR and I have no intention of sticking around, but I hope the guys who do can a go of it. Just trying to show a little respect to some fellow pilots, imagine that.

again, nothing official, but there's definitely work for the summer and fall/winter. They won't announce anything until the schedule is finalized with the tour operators. There's also alot of domestic charters for the military and cadets this summer.
