Don't know where you're getting your facts, but I think you should revisit them
Actually, from some X9A guys who work there. If your getting a weekend off, that's great.

Basically you have to live close to YHZ, or have really deep pockets. No more sked service means no more passes.... you do the math. Cha-ching $$$!

I heard talk that quite a large number of cj pilots are leaving very soon. Some that we may never have thought would leave.

Hemmmm...

How bout that one weekend a month. Maybe its not enough then?

(I knew you were in trouble when the most loyal of the bunch left last year, namly JmichaelM...God love ya)

Good luck to the rest of you!

The major problem right now is that at CJ it's seasonal employment. They don't even have anything nailed down for the fall yet. That makes it pretty hard when you need to make a financial decision. Then you add to that they have managed to take away every perk that used to come with working for an airline. There's two A/C scheduled to be returned this fall and supposedly replaced with 300's. Anyone taking bets on that?
They still believe that pilots are a dime a dozen. Right now there are 8 to 10 pilots waiting for course dates and about 10 waiting for interview results. They'll be trying to operate 4 to 6 a/c with 30 to 35 pilots.
I guess R can always get the janiters to fly the a/c.

I suppose that when your mission statement compleatly disregards any humans involved that are not linked to kr's bloodline you are setting your company up for a bit of a fall down the road. If anyone can post a the WJ mission statement and the cj mission statement to compare I think that things would become really clear really fast.

CJ's mission statement (as they called it) was a bunch of hogwash...It stated that they felt the employees are the greatest assets. Can anyone tell me when that statement was ever followed. (Maybe when they gave out the grocery coupons and 8 RDO's ??) They failed miserably.

As for future pilot departures; AC just checked on 4 references. Plus one other was up last week for a medical.. Expect them to be called for a July GS. Another just gave notice to go to India, with 2 more to follow him. That will be 8+ in the next 30-40 days.

Chalk up a few more empty CJ uniforms.

DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR!!!!!!!

Stay away from this airline!

The only reason that they have been around so long is because the east coast employees are willing to give a lot to get a little. However, they are now leaving too! Save yourself the headaches and goto AC, or WJA.

C-MNOP,
Normally I would agree with you but if you're a relatively low time pilot with no jet time than the CanJet Flight Training Academy can be of tremendous benefit. You could get the jet time you need to get onto WJ or AC. Sure you have to sign a thirty thousand dollar training bond but the money would be on the CJFA shutting down before the 3 years are up.
You'll be treated just as good as any of the other untrained employees at IMP. You'll get no special treatment or consideration for your training, flight time experience or the thousands of dollars and long hours you've put into your carreer. When the time comes for you to move on and upward you can do so with a clean conscience.

I looked at the cj website and could not find their mission statement.

The WJ one was nice though. Thanks.

(I had just about forgotten about our generous "food stamps for hard work reward" program) And a big thanks for reminding me how far I have come.

For the first time in a couple of months I have scanned the pilots forums and see that some of the same old postees are still here bashing CJ with a lot of untrue garbage hoping for our collapse and not too much different than what some hope for the demise of Porter. What a sick bunch of morons! There is Stick-Shaker from AC/Jazz whose boss has pocketed millions while the employees wait! Then there is Canada E H from WJ with his evangelistic mission statement put out by his admitted management thieves! What an ignorant bunch to take advice from who had us going out of business for months! Sure, some of our pilots will leave for personal reasons and good luck to them. However, I hear that others are joining and I also hear that magnagement is investigating bringing in a couple of NG 700/800 next winter to test them on our increasing routes for future replacement. Flying the charter model is different but I like it and I still think CJ is a good airline to work for and getting better! Sorry mainline critics,-has long time bashing each other become boring?

Your right about one thing, CanJet is a good place to work but only because your co-workers make it that way. I feel bad for those left at CanJet grasping at the ole NG aircraft story we all heard day in and day out. I will tell you that if CanJet wants to run NG aircraft they are going to have a hard time finding them for a reasonable price and if they do find them they do not have the contracts to utilize them and be profitable. I have not heard one glimmer of hope of any large charter contacts for the next season (besides the usual management BS) No one is going to give a large charter contract to airline with wrong equipment.

Anyway boys good luck to ya.

Let's clarify something here.

Just about anywhere in the Maritimes is a good place to work because of the people.

Edit: NFLD/LAB too :D

Thank you Troubleshot for your quick and inaccurate reply. Then with 254 posts on record it appears you like to talk a lot often no doubt before you think. As an AME with WJ I hope you are more diligent with your work! Regarding your comments get someone to explain to you what a wet lease is. Furthermore, from your work station how would you know what charters another company may or may not have next winter? I suggest you are another garbage statement example of what I have just posted about. However,I am glad you found CJ a great place to work as many of us still do.

Ok then...

I know all about you guys swapping jets with another company overseas and it's a great idea and all but it still doesn't hide the fact that KR is never going to commit to new aircraft..hey I used to work there not to long ago so I don't think I'm outta touch with what's going on.

I used to take attacks on CanJet very personally myself once apon a time but when your out of that environment of constant BS you tend to start seeing things more clearly.

We probably used to chat all the time on the bridge.

Good luck to you and everyone there, you deserve it.

Congrats and good luck Troubleshot. Glad to see another person embrace the outside world rather than cower and hide from it.

I'm sure that the BS the pilots hear in their Toronto hotel rooms is just about the same BS the manit department hear from their Enfeild work stations. To think any different would be arrogant, right.

506 will be returned in Oct. This will be replaced with a 300.
321 will be returned in 2009. Supposably, this will be replaced with a new fleet type.
The 522 leases are up in 2011.

Hifly:

In all honesty, I hope the CJ thing works out for those that choose to stay. The pilots there are a great group. But that doesn't change the fact that it was, is and always will be a dump. That doesn't change my opinion that all employees there were treated poorly with complete disregard and consideration for our lives outside of work. We were expected to perform duties while pushing CARs to the limits, shoved into extended range operations beyond the realistic design specifications of the what a 73-5 was intended for, 8-10 days off, poor medical benefits, 2% F/O pension, no dental, no overtime pay unless you met CJs stringent OT policy, 6 sick days per year, etc. Defend it all you want. The facts are there.

Whats this? A new aircraft type at CJ? Ahhhh yes, that old chestnut.

You can put any spin on it that you want, or wear the rose colored glasses but even the old guard is leaving. You'd be surprised who's looking to greener pastures. just remember last one out turn out the lights.

I think its pretty clear that the Hifly's who continue to defend cj have never actually worked at a real airline.

Very nice co-workers, crap, crap, crap company!

It's getting more interesting as we speak. Potentially 6 guys to leave for
AC in the next month or two. Couple of more have Cathay interviews, and two more to JetAirways. It's going to be a cold summer.
