2500+ which included close to 1500 hours pic across king airs and q400s with experience around North America and arctic.
Very nice xp. Any reason why lynx over WJ, AC? The benefit of gaining seniority much faster than at the former 2?
Wj currently not hiring. And screw going to AC because "it's ac and I can be one of a million commuters for a crappy reserve schedule".

The quick gain in seniority and quick possible upgrades were tempting. Instead I'll sit out where I currently am and wait for my start date south of the border.
This is getting even more confusing. Why not stay south of the border for 3x the salary?

Cause I'm not south yet. I'm still employed in Canada. Just waiting for the visa to come through. I'm still actively employed with a 705 in Canada.

Hello Everyone.

I recently set up a 45-minute screening interview with Lynx Air. Since this is my first 705 operation interview, I would welcome any information on current interview questions and helpful hints for interview preparation.

Thank you

Make sure you have a high level of experience, the recruitment team wouldn’t reschedule my interview even though I have close to 6000 hours.

Pretty sure your hours don't matter because you've shown you're not reliable.

They want to know they can crew their planes, not have you call in and leave them hanging. With them knowing it's likely that you could jump ship to another carrier given how small they are, they want reliable, not flake.

Who said I’m not reliable? They didn’t contact my references to question my reliability.

Same hourly pay, 75 hour MMG at Lynx, 85 at Flair. So in a min credit month, Flair pays 10 hours per month more.

Does that actually equate in more work (since they would try to schedule you to hit those guaranteed 85hrs) or in real life it doesn't make much difference in the amount of work, but you get paid more?

Also if you'd fly for 85h/m, you would be at 1020 yearly, so the real month hours can't be more than 83.3h/m on average without busting the 1000 limit

The 85 is credit hours, the 1000 hour limit is flight time, no risk of exceeding that for most. As for 85 vs 75, this is the MMG and yes you would have to work more to get more. Block holders will have a blocking window, usually 80-85 or 70-75, so they build the block into the window. At a min credit day, the difference is 2.5 days of extra work at Flair

The answer is "it depends". For instance during training at Flair you get pad for 85 hours, despite not flying at all. As a junior pilot, you would get reserve or min credit flying which is capped at 18 days, which work out to 85 hours of pay, for 72 hours of flying credit (4 hour min credit). Once you can hold a line (called a block at most other companies) then you'll get 85 hours of flying and get paid for 85 hours. Myself I haven't even flown 700 hours yet this year, but have always been paid for 85 hours a month. If you fly over 85 your get time and a half, and if you work a day off you get double time.

Beyond that I don't know how Lynx pay works, just that their minimum monthly guarantee (MMG) is 75 hours, at 150 an hour (1st year Captain) that's 1500/ month less pay (18k a year). But the hourly wage is the same. So it depends.

I did the interview last week. It was just one HR lady, Jaclyn, who only started at Lynx a week prior. She was very pleasant. Asked questions like; tell me about a conflict in the cockpit and how it was resolved, why should Lynx hire you, what have you done in the past 12 months to further your career, how do you manage stress in the cockpit, why is being a professional so important in our industry, how should pilots work through emergencies, etc. No technical questions. I heard back within 24 hrs to schedule a second interview.

Oh my god, Lynx make people do a second interview? That’s the funniest thing I’ve heard this week. ‘Tell us why your dream is work for a bottom-feeder ULCC making the lowest 737 wages on the planet’.

I didn't think it was that much of an ask, both were video interviews so not much of a time commitment. They may have interested me a little more if their hiring process was a bit quicker though

Idk man. I swear every other topic I see you posting and commenting about your millions of hours on king airs and how you are never called.

Me thinks either you have an infamous name in the industry or you come off clearly during an interview for the wrong reasons.
