It's pretty bad when history can repeat itself multiple times in your own generation and you still don't learn from it. You can't reinvent a company by implementing a new look. You need to have a company that truly does things differently... THEN change the look.

When are you going to get rid of your joke pilot uniforms (Westjet, Spyjet, whatever) and actually represent us in the Canadian industry the way we should be portrayed?

Professional Pilots whom command Respect with their Professional appearance.

I'm sorry, you must be confused, our uniforms don't include diapers. Good day to you.

It sounds like the "potential" new uniform was also being tested for it's material more than anything else. The other reason was that the company noticed that pilots were not always wearing the hat which made them think about scrapping it altogether. I can't believe the attention this is getting. I hate to break it to some but this will not bankrupt AC if it goes ahead. There are bigger fish to fry these days than debating a new uniform. Don't look for this new look anytime soon.

Even if it doesn't go through, how much money do you think was spent exploring this new option?

Approx price per uniform, $300.
Number of uniforms used to "explore the option", 2.
Total approximate cost, $600, give or take.
No wait. I think it was 4 uniforms. Or maybe 5.

I don't know but cost of reading stupid embarrasing threads by rockslingers: Priceless!
Seriously though, cost aside, I'm just glad that we're not getting them, or so it seems. The old one "suites" me just fine. :P

HA! And I'm glad for you guys... I was having a hard time distinguishing the pilots(without their hats) from the FA's.

Naw, I think it was the proposed light blue ties that made it look kinda Flight-Attendee. But hey, I'm proud to be style-less myself, so wtf do I know?

Yes. The ties also stood out. In the wrong way. Well, the membership has let ACPA know what we think. Back to hats. Or back to the drawing board.

I have read this entire thread, and I have to agree with the leave it the way it is camp, the new uniforms make you look like flight attendants. Speaking as a ex AC LAT the one thing you have done well at, is portraying a proffesional image to the flying public. This uniform change definatly would undermine that.

I can recall several times, when I used to work phase check in YWG, I would go and meet the airplane to take back to the hanger for the phase. And as I was standing at the gate watching the pax deplane . At the end, one of you would come out and hand me the cockpit garbage bag. Now thats a bad company uniform.
