Re: ORNGE Hiring
see today ornge opportunities .
time to put some things in perspective /6 pc 12's x 3 full time crews per aircraft for 24hr dispatch 7 days a week x 365 days a yr
= a grand total of 36 peelots plus a floater crew of 4 = 40 pilots to cover sick days etc . add 6 pilots for every aircraft added to flight line
hiring f/o only upgrade are 2-4yrs away for the 12 regardless of exp
as the senior folks went to ornge in 2009 to establish the best senoirity and are not planing on leaving . more than likely to be offered yts or yxl cost of living there $$$ due to mining yts and tourism (yxl in summer)
which is probably why it has been reposted as many are saying thanks but not at the moment. especialy if you are a 20something looing to make a 705 carrier by 35 the pc 12 does not give you the pic multi time or for that matter the pic time if you accept as fo as per previous posters are you going to spend 400 to 1000 of your own cash on airfare hotel and meals etc to attend an interview? only to get a pfo letter because you indicate that you want capt position/ the hr mgr has sandbagged many qualified candidates the dir of ops needs to get control over hr // hr report to ops not the other way around . fly safe

Re: ORNGE Hiring
2-4 years? For an upgrade to captain? On a single engine airplane? I'd be disappointed in anyone with the lack of ambition to even apply. Flame away. It's a single pilot, single engine airplane. Can't wait to see the quality of your applicants. Anybody who tries to tell you they'll be happy in the right seat of a PC12 for 2-4 years, is either a complete idiot, or they're lying to you....BIG time.

Re: ORNGE Hiring
doc could be a good retirement position for someone who has mega pic but has worked for 703/704 that are kaput and no pension plan or bene's.
however you are right in the patience issue re : with the wait time for pic capt.. its not the quality of applicants its the process // heard from back channels that they have pfo'd cp 's applying to ornge .

Re: ORNGE Hiring
further to me last post // a good hr system is unbiased has systems in place to train mgrs in being aware of their own biases // preventative measures and how to prevent them in the process of recruitment.
When hr assumes line mgr authority for hiring, they are generally are outside of their area of expertise. the results to the organization can be detrimental, it is up to the director of flt ops to reign in the hr dept. hr reports to ops and senior mgt but should not make the hiring descisions.fly safe
