I was deeply saddened to hear that terminal cancer of a loved one has added to our many mutual experiences.

Behind every good man is a good woman, and nowhere is this more true than in aviation. We put our women through so much, yet only the truly faithful stick around.

Your staunch, unwavering integrity, with its attendant job-losses and battles with corrupt authority must have put Pene to many challenges. Probably, she loved you more for it.

I feel my life somewhat diminished not to have met her.
Use your strength now to get throught this and celebrate her life every day.

A friend who visited . the day after Pene's passing noted that he had lost a great deal of weight (and he had precious little to lose) ... I'm sure his health held out during his months as Pene's caregiver out of shear determination. Now . tells me that two days after Pene passed he took ill with flu and has had a hard time shaking it, but is now on a slow road to recovery.

To all who have posted their condolences, . has asked that I let you know - he has been reading this thread. Hopefully, he will soon be strong enough to join us once again, if just to say hello.
